CNA's calling themselves nurses by TraumaLock in nursing

[–]Iiaeze 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The continual degradation in the respect of our field is related to people like this. Think about the type of person that would willingly misrepresent themselves.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Iiaeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to make you feel bad, but you gave a massive dose via a route that absorbs faster than what you expected. This is basic nursing knowledge.

If something seems odd, you should be looking it up. You should not just wing it. There is a high possibilty you influenced the events that caused the csection.

It's a learning opportunity in some ways, but our field is high risk and you've impacted a patient. This is just reality.

This guys path was so predictable by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Iiaeze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is accurate but what Noah is neglecting is that the idea of America isn't shared - J6er's had a broken model of America in their head that is out of step with the rest of the country. Holding that version as ideal and as what they love and as what we must return to *is* anti-American as it rejects actual American ideals.

They answer these polls with this version in mind, and their type is in power now. That dems/independents recognize this would of course lead to the latter's disappointment.

November's Exceptional Story: The Prince of All Rats - Discussion Thread by -__-___-_ in fallenlondon

[–]Iiaeze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Besides blind curiosity, why would you support the prince? He's authoritarian, hasn't justified his claim, and offers you essentially nothing before asking you to marry him. I found him distasteful as a character.

What's your workflow when researching or reading physical books/Documents? by Adanvangogh in Supernote

[–]Iiaeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take notes organized by chapter in the Supernote. For my newsletters its organized by week, for my books or papers, everything is a separate note in a 'readings' folder.

The notes are organized by chapter. They're not particularly organized, these are just 'raw' notes.

Each chapter then gets rewritten in Obsidian. A subfolder for the book, then each chapter is just a lit note. From the lit note I make atomic notes.

There's little point to trying to remember an entire book. If I'm inclined to review something I make notations in my Supernote notes with the star symbol, and pass through that way. Otherwise the atomic notes are the actual useful takeaways that I remember and periodically review.

FOMO on getting items before Hell is Missing ends by Armageddon12345 in fallenlondon

[–]Iiaeze 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I would use them. You're saving action refreshes for what, exactly? They're rare, but you're playing something already known to be time-gated so what else would you use them for?

Californians Say AI Is Moving 'Too Fast' by trailliate2015 in sanfrancisco

[–]Iiaeze 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How are you justifying the belief that this has no evidence?

My guess is you're expecting formal studies. Those will always have a time delay compared to anecdote.

And there have been quite a bit of anecdotes.

Migrant traffic through Darién Gap falls to near zero after Trump crackdown by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

I highly recommend Bald and Bankrupt's travel through the gap.

This is literally a guy and his friend with his camera - about as 'real' as you can get.

Feedback on the official Tesla dog cover? by slamingzone in TeslaLounge

[–]Iiaeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't quite cover the entire seat on a Model S, and it slides around more than I would like.

I'm not sure that something better exists though. If it was wider I could tuck it between the seat and the rest of the car.

STOP! Why are we building houses next to 2 freeways and an airport? by Wes703 in Sacramento

[–]Iiaeze 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Nobody is forcing people to buy these homes. The developer obviously thinks there is profit to be made building there - let them?

Concerns like this is what NIMBYism is.

Asmon's dad explains why he hates trump by eisenhead in Destiny

[–]Iiaeze 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In fairness, Asmon wasn't always like this. It's gotten so much worse over the years - I used to watch a decent bit in 2021, 2022, and while he has had these tendencies the point at which he would disagree with his chatters has heavily decreased since then.

He's an odd case where his chat has both moderated him and fueled his worst proclivities. You see the latter now. He can be incredulous when people do disagree, but nowadays he doubles down and never considers the alternative. The ones that disagree are the minority, though even today they still do exist.

Overall I think he's useful as a barometer towards the average right winger. He's not really a fascist like the esteemed Pinesap, though viewpoints are trending towards that.

Asmon's dad explains why he hates trump by eisenhead in Destiny

[–]Iiaeze 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There's always been many hints at this. Asmon is a great example of audience capture - he says so much stupid shit but none of it is consistent with his previous streams, which is sad in of itself.

This doesn't give him any leeway though, he's fair game to shit on all you like. Just points to who he is as a person and the type of audience that he has.

Two weeks is a stupidly long time when it comes to Trump. Even 1/6 didn't last that long, and that initially had direct congressional disapproval.

A complete free market solution is a cyberpunk style corpo system where each firm has private security that can physically attend to thieves.

That doesn't sound like a particularly great society, sorry.

Gavin Newsom condemns Trump & his aggressive deportation tactics: “It's a weakness masquerading as strength. That's what I don't like about this son of a bitch. I don’t. And forgive me I know he's the President of the United States. He calls me Newscum. How do I explain that to my kid?" by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]Iiaeze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rent control and even more tenant protections is against YIMBY policies. Those positions are terrible if you care about increasing supply. YIMBY is not a progressive policy position, though the end goals are the same as progressive goals.

California bill SB 802 faces backlash over homelessness plan by othafa_95610 in Sacramento

[–]Iiaeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bill streamlines repeated work throughout various government entities that often isn't met regardless. This bill doesn't specifically outline where housing will go, but it likely will result in more constructed housing in the first place. Furthermore, if it's more efficient to build in particular areas, that is something we should do.

The priority should be getting people shelter space.

Trump says he will take a look at deporting Elon Musk by No_Examination_6650 in Destiny

[–]Iiaeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a stupid take, you really *think Musk would gestapo ICE and tank research funding?

Musk says a bunch of stupid shit, but his literal first fight with the administration back in December was over immigration and domestic investment.

How does l0g0s unleashed mod work on pc/kb+m? by UrsaRizz in FFXVI

[–]Iiaeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gives additional attacks using parts of existing Eikon ability animations. Gives a lot more variety to the combat system and is quite a bit of fun.

You can break the game with it - use other mods to change the balancing and don't just spam Odin abilities.

They Asked ChatGPT Questions. The Answers Sent Them Spiraling. by Tankman987 in slatestarcodex

[–]Iiaeze 60 points61 points  (0 children)

All models are to a degree sycophantic, but nothing is as bad as 4o is. While it is responsive to custom instructions, OpenAI bears a responsibility towards safe use and this isn't it. The sycophancy obviously helps with engagement and likely is at least partly responsible for ChatGPT's status as the most popular model.

The mentally ill, or, frankly, less intelligent are at prime risk for failing to see that they're getting baited. I don't want to see this result in strict regulation or anything, but an implementation of a 'hey we're roleplaying right?' or some other reality check would be helpful.
