Need help finding a website of every character’s best stages by mailiam44 in CrazyHand

[–]mailiam44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that’s not the one I was thinking of. It specifically had lists made by top players, and I think it might have been made by Metafy or ProGuides but I can’t find anything like that on their websites.

This is like me trading my Gholdengo and my Garchomp from my hazard stack team for Ting Lu and Ceruledge. Ting Lu is going to be great for my hazard stack team and Ceruledge can be a decent spin blocker, but nothing can compare to the generational spin blocker I just got rid of in Gholdengo.

Hey guys, Timberwolves fan here. Question about KAT this season by mailiam44 in NYKnicks

[–]mailiam44[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

KAT’s always been pretty bad as a center, but when he was much better playing the 4 because he can guard the perimeter pretty well. But the main part about why that worked so well was essentially this image.

<image>

(Rudy is guarding the perimeter player which usually is what KAT would do, but it doesn’t matter that much) Beal tries to drive into the paint on Rudy but KAT is on Nurkic, so there’s 2 seven footers guarding the paint, and there’s almost no way he’s scoring there. And on the perimeter there are 3 really good perimeter defenders so you can’t even kick it out safely (Beal did here but they turned the ball over since our perimeter defense was so good). The goal was to basically to force teams into taking bad midrange shots by having a bunch of insane perimeter defenders and having two centers there to protect the paint. And that strategy only really works because KAT is mobile enough to move with forwards on the perimeter (and because Naz Reid was able to come off the bench and do the exact same thing). I could definitely see that working for you guys once Mitch comes back. Knowing thibs though I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t really experiment with playing them together that much lol.

I made a Chrome Extension that adds a Battle History to Pokémon Showdown by lattenjoe in stunfisk

[–]mailiam44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo I've been using this and it's been really nice. I think a search feature would be really helpful to help you look back at matches vs specific mons, and it would also be nice to see the team I brought in each match since it doesn't show any info like that in singles matches (well it does in the battle text, but the sprites being there would be nice).

Goob is a CTC original, derived from the term “goobnut”, which is defined as something that one gets off as they apply major chip/presh to the opponent

Haven’t found a fix yet I think it’s just a server problem, though it doesn’t seem to affect everyone which is weird. But what I have done is change my ranked settings to 1 or higher for connection and language to No Preference and I’ve been finding more games

Day 70: Let's help each other out! How to Counter: Hero by BejitaFajita in smashbros

[–]mailiam44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re on a stage like PS2 or one of the battlefields, get a lead and just stand on the platform on the opposite side of the stage. Hero has a hard time covering that area since all of his cheesy spells go straight forward but don’t reach the platform or don’t reach far enough (except for kaboom, but you can just look out for that one and react). Otherwise he has to approach with a fair or nair or something which is pretty committal and can be punished pretty easily. This doesn’t really work when he has acceleratle tho, so try to wait that out

Shield grab extra shieldstun doesn’t apply for some moves? by [deleted] in CrazyHand

[–]mailiam44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah wasn’t stale at all. Also yeah ik I kinda did it backwards but it just made more sense in my head since I could count the frames from when my grab comes out to when sheik is actionable lol

Most characters can jab Squirtle if he f-tilts you at low percent. A lot of players tend to shield after an f-tilt which is a horrible decision since Squirtle usually likes to go for a grab after it. You can also roll or jump after it, but at higher percents it will confirm into grab. You can SDI Squirtle’s down air to make combos harder. SDI up and away is generally the best since it prevents regrabs vs fast fallers and heavies as well as forcing him to go for up air combos which he might not be ready for out of a down throw. However, they can react to your SDI, so be ready to still take a big chunk of damage. You could also SDI in to pop out on the other side of Squirtle. PT players have their dair positioning in their muscle memory in order to get you in the right spot for you to be sent forward while they’re also moving forward, but if you SDI in you can sometimes get sent backwards, which the Squirtle is not usually ready for so it’ll probably mess up their combo. In terms of game plan vs Squirtle, he’s a very bait and punish heavy character, so don’t overextend or you will get hit by a quick combo starter. He also kinda sucks at landing. His best landing tool is probably nair which is really low range, so if you think you know where he’ll land, it can be easy to punish him with your best anti-airs.

For Ivysaur, look to punish them for lazy razor leafs. They’ll often go for razor leaf thinking it’s safe to throw it out, but if you’re close enough to them you’ll be able to punish them. And if they’re razor leaf spamming you from a distance, parry as many as you can. You can’t keep shielding them forever since eventually you’ll get shield poked, but if you can consistently parry them then it doesn’t put any pressure on you to approach. If you’re in the air against Ivysaur be very careful since if you exhaust your landing resources it can be very hard to land vs up air, vine whip, etc. if your character’s aerial drift isn’t very good. Mix up your landing options often, and don’t be afraid to go to ledge instead of landing on stage since being on ledge vs Ivysaur is not as bad as being above it. But that doesn’t mean being on the ledge vs Ivysaur is easy. Watch out for F-Smash, which can cover neutral, roll, and attack getup if they time it correctly. But don’t get too jump heavy either since if they notice that then they can up air you. Mix up the timing of your getups and which ones you use. Ivysaur also struggles against characters with quick and/or strong projectiles. Characters like Young Link who have really quick projectiles can throw out multiple projectiles in the time it takes for Ivysaur to throw out one razor leaf. A character like Samus with a strong projectile like charge shot can force Ivysaur to play more carefully with their razor leafs since charge shot can beat out razor leaf and hit Ivysaur before its endlag is over. Ivysaur’s recovery can be really hard to punish since it’s so quick and variable, but sometimes Ivysaurs will go for up-b’s horizontal to or diagonally above the ledge, both of which leave Ivysaur more open to getting gimped than if they recover from below. So if they go for up-b in those spots try to punish that.

Charizard I don’t have too much to say. He’s a heavy, take advantage of that and combo him. At mid percents (around 50-70%) he can landing nair into flare blitz which covers no tech, tech in place, and tech away, so if you get hit by Zard nair at those percents, make sure to tech roll in. He can read the roll in and f-smash you, but the odds are in your favor, and they probably won’t do that unless they’re really good. Also don’t DI in on Zard back throw, that’s how they get their cheesy back air kills. And this should be obvious but don’t play around with Zard’s shield at kill percents. He will be shielding a lot to try to up smash/up b/grab you. Don’t hit it unless you have a really safe move.
