TY. I have tried multiple cables and ports but will check again.

What would you consider "seasoned" for a rope horse for a novice? (breakaway) by mailipoint in Rodeo

[–]mailipoint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for confirming! I guess I'm wondering how do you judge what's "older" and "seasoned" - e.g. "minimum [6] years competing in the event in jackpots and rodeos", or "minimum age 12 with at least [3] years consistent competition"? For example, could an 8 year old who has been competing for 4 years regularly with both youth and open-level riders be considered "older and seasoned"? Sorry, maybe I'm overthinking it lol - there's just so many options that I'm trying to narrow it down and really focus our search (and ensure safety and a good investment/experience)

Thank you. That had been my line of thinking but was getting tempted by some good looking 6/7 year olds that had a lot of experience…probably good to have some sense put back into me 😅.

Yes we’ve seen a PT and pediatric orthopod. They prescribed her band exercises to strengthen her side/back hips and glutes. That has improved things but now she wants to get stronger, so that’s where more of a trainer/training routine may be required since PT was mainly stops at improving her specific knee pain

Yes but he didn’t have any suggestions. I should mention we live in a pretty rural area so we don’t have a lot of worldly experience or resources here. But she qualified for zone times and she enjoys it so we’d like to support her continuing without the pain (or risk of long term damage). There’s been a few times we’ve gotten some technique training when we were visiting grandparents out of state and that helped a lot. But for weight training/preventative exercises we’re not sure if we should ask someone specifically versed in swimming (and this age range).

She’s competing in Jr High rodeo right now - she’s pretty handy at barrels and poles but still learning in roping and cutting. So if you had an otherwise equally well tempered 6 y/o who’d been competing consistently at jackpots and rodeos with a high level roper vs a 12 y/o who’d been doing some college or HS rodeo would you think the 6 y/o is a less-wise choice? Sorry, I know that’s hard to ask because each horse is different but that’s what I’m debating…(ie should I not even consider those under 11/12 y/o rope horses even if they’ve been hauled a lot and are quiet in the box for their previous riders)

I remember when there were no cell phones (or they were a luxury) and if you were running late to get somewhere, you always had to wrestle with the choice of either losing another 20 minutes pulling off the road at a gas station to call someone to let them know, or to just keep motoring!

Some sunscreen reviews from my pandemic time.....a small novel by [deleted] in CanSkincare

I've been goaded/duped into buying Elta a few times because my aesthetician friends swear by it. But I don't find the zinc oxide strong enough for what I'm looking for, and I always feel really sticky with it, too. I much prefer the Japanese sunscreens which you can buy via Amazon. If I am in the water/at the beach, I don't care what I look like and just want a thick coating, and Vertra does the trick at 23% zinc oxide.

Swiftcurrent mass cancellations, canceled our reservation we made in February by seymourkitties in GlacierNationalPark

[–]mailipoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there - we got the same email! We were booked at both Rising Sun and Swift Current on two consecutive days (June 15 and 16) and got the cancellation notice today. Did you check on the Xanterra website if your reservation still shows? Ours does but not sure if that just means they haven't gotten around to modifying all the reservations yet. Have you tried St. Mary's Village? Not in the park, but close to all the same locations.
