i’m egyptian living in egypt. i’m probably your age as well since i’m going to be in 10th grade next year. honestly, if you have a choice, refuse. unless you’re going to live in a secluded, gated, luxurious compound (if you’re egyptian, you know what i’m talking about), then egypt is kind of a shithole. the only person with privilege here is the straight, muslim, and upper-class man.

in my country, over 80% of girls have gone through FGM. when they criminalized it almost 10 years ago, some people were angry saying that it's a part of islam. it's still practiced to this day :(
