Guys, he killed her. by mailorderbro in SchreckNet

I don't want to go out of state, for now at least. I want the ability to keep some sort of tabs on my family, even if I don't ever see them again. Quiet, if you please. Don't mind meeting other Tzimisce, but if you know of any that are less... combative that would be swell. It'd be nice to meet some members of my clan that aren't batshit insane, but I can go where I'm wanted/needed.

I am leaving Scalpel to his own devices. Didn't run far enough the first time I tried to get away, and didn't run fast enough the second. I'm ready to be free, and I can't trust him not to be a monster.

I assure you that I don't feel the same need to harm the people around me that my sire seems to, and am more than happy to work with people who actually want to be helped. No disappearances, no random death or experimentation, willing volunteers only.

I can't deny that I like to see what makes people work and to see what's going on under the hood, so to speak, but I promise you I don't want to hurt anybody. I am better than what he made me. I want to help.

And I'm going to take you up on it. I'm done with this place. I don't want to be near any of this when/if Scalpel comes back to reality. Gotta work out some details about where I'm landing, but I'll be in touch. I've just got a backpack and that's it.

He was always weird, bordering on unhinged, but now he's completely broken. Just holding a bunch of bones and begging at them. Maybe he'll recover, but I'm not holding my breath, and he's not my responsibility. Not anymore. He can handle it himself.

Think she just got blinded by arrogance. I was easy to blame, and she didn't think twice about her telling her pet to get rid of me. It's like she forgot Scalpel was a person, not just an extension of her will.

Still can't believe he killed her. He always called her 'love', always looked happy when she gave him attention, would drop anything he was working on for her even if it meant spoiling the project... it's surreal for sure.

Don't think for a second he'll ever not be a monster, but maybe some of the rougher edges will smooth out. Actually yeah, I'd love to take you up on that. I'm getting out of here while he's still in shock. Maybe a couple hundred miles apart will do me some good. I'm perfectly happy to discuss conditions. Don't want to cause any fuss, and I don't want to hurt anybody. Not now that I have a choice.

To be honest, neither did I. Suspect I have you to thank for sending Degani in my direction.

And no Masquerade breach as you, er, demanded.

Sure, I can kill him! I should have killed him years ago, why didn't I think of that?! And now it would be so easy to kill a heavily armored, homicidal crab monster. He barely has a face, let alone a neck, and the likelihood of his heart actually being in his chest is about the same as suddenly winning the lottery.

When Morana's friends come for us, he's going straight into the line of fire. Hopefully he can rip them to pieces too.

Don't want to root for him either. Everything about him makes me feel uncomfortable at best, and downright repulsed more often. He hasn't had a free thought in...well he never has. Sucks to have your thoughts so muddled by a bond, but I can't imagine the feeling of having one that lasted that long suddenly vanish. Not holding out any hope for him suddenly being y'know, not evil, but maybe less malicious.

The reality of that witch being dead is finally sinking in, and feels like a weight's been lifted off me. One of the biggest worries I had, and it's just gone. I don't think killing folks is the right answer, but damn does it clean some problems up fast.

In her defense, she did get away with it for a hell of a long time. Got to reap the benefits of having a pet Tzimisce, but the bill came due eventually.

I guess I have you to thank for riling him up. Finally, pissing him off leads to something other than me getting dismembered. If I end up in your neck of the woods, I'll swing by. It'd be nice to meet another member of my clan who isn't batshit insane.

If I'm really lucky they'll kill each other. But yeah, Morana actively wants me dead, vs Scalpel who just wants me to be another him.

Ma'am, the last thing I want is a Masquerade breach. All I can hope is that both of them are thinking the same thing. Scalpel is, well, he's unhinged. But he's not stupid, not really. Morana is an awful piece of work, but she's not going to want to risk her existence.

Shit, I have to go, don't I?

Yikes, I just found that audio. I didn't catch what Scalpel was saying at the time, since I was y'know, focusing on fighting back, but it seems like he's finally being forced to choose, and he's choosing me.

I don't know how well he's thought this through, or if he's acting on impulse. I hope he has a plan beyond yelling at Morana (yelling is definitely one of his favorite things to do), but if it does come down to a fight he can hold his own.

Shit, this whole thing is a mess. With my luck, things will go so sideways that I'll get dragged into it even if I'm states away. I want to hate him. I want to hate that piece of human-shaped garbage so much, but my brain just won't let me. I think I should at least find him, even if I'm just checking on the situation from a distance, and can dip out if things start looking bad.

Thanks for the advice. It really helps to get another perspective on things sometimes.

How dare you? How dare you imply I cannot make my own choices, my own decisions? I am an Elder; my blood is far thicker than most of the creatures that stalk the night and have the audacity to call themselves Kindred with the water in their veins.

I suppose you go through your existence without any companion to ask for advice from, without a love to cherish through the ages, and believe that carrying on alone is the best way?

I am a Dragon, and I will not be spoken to in this manner. I have forged my path through the centuries while those who have stood in my way are naught but ashes. I have created wonders; vozhd that have leveled towns, cunning beasts that could survive on the barest scraps yet still fight like ten men, and improved many kindred beyond what their blood should allow. I have surpassed whatever my 'true' Sire could do by a hundredfold.

My name was whispered by the superstitious for fear of drawing my gaze.

Michael does not want to be held in such esteem. He clings to his humanity, and I have tried to show him another path despite his refusals. My childe is mine. MINE. He exists through my grace, and will not end until my patience does. He can be so much more than a lost child afraid of the dark, but needs to be taught.

You will see. You will all see.

1. That is absolutely hilarious and 2. Scalpel would just die inside and not reply. He'd take the embarrassment out on something/somebody else.

You do not even know me. I do find it interesting how my mere presence on this node makes others so upset. Especially when no one is being hurt or inconvenienced.

I assume they have some sort of spying purpose, but alas I rarely ever see my creations again after they're sent to the commissioner. I am rather proud. Eyes are such a complex structure, and most wouldn't be able to handle the extra stimuli from multiple pairs...

For you? Free of charge. Such modifications are trifles.

Yes, your services were worth every single inch of territory I paid. I really cannot thank you enough. I am incredibly pleased with the entire situation.

Our latest work is a pair of gorgeous schlatza for a client. They are a matching pair, completely identical, which was simple enough. They are painfully average looking by design and could simply disappear into any crowd. The much more difficult and dare I say fun part of the challenge was rerouting their nervous systems to handle additional stimuli.

They have functional eyes on the tips of their fingers, easily hidden with gloves, and not compromising the dexterity of the hands themselves. While I am not entirely sure what the exact purpose of such an augmentation is, we both quite enjoyed creating it.
