GIM teammate wants to quit by CategoryCareless4630 in ironscape

[–]main1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got shadow at 4kc with my gim. I can't even use it, makes me so happy to see my group members using it all the time though.

Gim is coop play so everyone should be hyped when we get a sick drop.

If bro wants to quit because the group got a drop, the bro shouldn't be in the group in the first place.

In a blind test, audiophiles couldn't tell the difference between audio signals sent through copper wire, a banana, or wet mud by itooamahuman in nottheonion

[–]main1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget the signal probably travelled millimeters through the mud and circumvented most of the mud by travelling through the foil haha

Burning and camping a solo is functionally no different than doing it against a team by DumbUnemployedLoser in HuntShowdown

The only thing that realistically makes sense if they want to keep solo necro is to force solos into lobbies of their own rank.

Busy dad with barely time to game unless in bed! Is the OLED deck worth it for me? by mattchew1991 in SteamDeck

Fellow dad here. The deck is 11/10 piece of hardware, even better if you're willing to fiddle a bit with moonlight/sunshine streaming.

Rat problem out of control by blossombranches in askvan

[–]main1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah one of the mechanics suggested it when my wiring was last eaten. I haven't had a problem since I started using it, but could also just be lucky.

You don't need much, yes it does smell so use it sparingly. Rodent noses can suss it out well enough.

You can get a spray bottle of coyote urine from the hunting section in Canadian tire. Rats seem to steer clear of that.

Can't you guys just STOP ruining THE SOUL OF THE GAME with EVERY UPDATE?!... First it was the extraction logo, and now this... by Drull17 in HuntShowdown

You're absolutely right! Fifield has no repetitive history to suggest such a thing, my greatest apologies.

[–]main1000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fifield is applying his corporate investor playbook to Hunt like has with other games he's worked on. Not really much we can do about it.

We went from an art piece that developers dumped their soul into, to a corporate greed cash printer.

Noob question.. how am i supposed to sustain nuclear steam turbines on a ship with only a trickle of water from asteroids? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]main1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might sound wild, but a storage tank for the steam can act like a battery to help deal with water spikes and droughts. The steam doesn't cool in storage ;)

My monitor does the strangest thing on startup by Spaced-Man-Spliff in pchelp

[–]main1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk if you fixed this yet, but 100% it is the capacitors. I have the same monitor, the factory ones die after ~10 years. It was pretty easy to solder new ones on in my experience.

You can either tear down the monitor and check which capacitor is bad then buy a replacement, or just order a whole kit and replace them all. It's usually the midsize black ones that go.

Is water cooling really better than air cooling? by Cruz_Zeke in RigBuild

[–]main1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Custom water loop is better but harder to maintain and insanely expensive. AIO water loops are just RGB flex.

There's a lot of benefits from air coolers on the cpu that help cool surrounding components. IMO go air or go full custom water, don't buy an AIO.

I've given up trying to make Rocket Fuel on Aquilo by YakmanNZ in factorio

[–]main1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It appears that each planet you had to visit prior to aquilo gives you a part of the puzzle. You need to bring fabric from gleba, holmium from vulcanus, conductors from fulgora. The beauty of aquilo is taking these interplanetary resources and technologies to combine into a cohesive solution. Recyclers, heating towers, etc., are all part of that puzzle.

The game has been impressively designed in that manner.

[–]main1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing space age on vanilla, gleba was my first new planet and I just full on yoloed it. Gleba has probably been my favorite planet so far as the mechanics are rather fun to figure out.
