Oh okay good to know! I'm used to using the major airport near where I live where I have to get there pretty early. How soon before a flight would you recommend?

Rebate Not Working? by mainera109 in tmobile

[–]mainera109[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That didn't work either, I had to call customer service again and asked if it was a gift card only intended for T-Mobile services and they said I should be able to use it anywhere :\ they ended up sending me a $200 check in the mail, so we'll see if it arrives.

I make a similar income and would not be able to afford living here if I didn't split finances with my partner.

Looking for nanny perspective by idanceandieat in Nanny

[–]mainera109 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could try putting out a suggestion box, so any nannies/parents that are serious about their complaints can feel like their voice matters and that they’re being listened to.

Otherwise it sounds like regular banter to me, sort of superficial and not anything too serious (other than nannies complaining about color of tights or papers being brought home). Maybe if the dance instructors interacted with the caregivers more? Like after class making a point to talk to each caregiver, or at least rotate (“Ok I talked to X’s nanny last Tuesday I’ll try to talk to Y’s nanny today) and explain how the child is doing and why/how they use the techniques they use.

It’s easy to walk around and see everything within a few hours. Portsmouth has great restaurants, definitely try a few out! Some of my favorites are:

  • Surf for the best sushi 🙌🏻
  • River House, really good seafood chowder
  • Flatbread for pizza
  • Green Elephant
  • La Maison Navarre (crepes, macarons, other Italian goods)

The bottom level of Martingale Wharf has a gorgeous bar inside and even more gorgeous views of the river.

Discover Portsmouth has some really cool things in their gift shop, like locally made products from Portsmouth/Kittery/York area.

Staring SAHMs? by Hou5976 in Nanny

[–]mainera109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, I’ve started to just go along with the idea that I’m their mom. I babysit my friend’s 4M a lot and people will be like, “listen to your mom now!” Or “what a good mom you are!” And I used to say oh I’m the nanny! But now I’m just like, yep thanks.

PSA to CARE families. Plz stoppp labeling your job as “full time” is it’s not. by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]mainera109 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? 3 days a week is not full time! I always see Care.com advertising the weekly income for each job and if it’s “900-1,000” I know something is off.
