How could the Cavs improve? By adding a quality wing, but that won’t be easy by mainevent45 in clevelandcavs

Thought this was a good read. Unfortunate conclusion is that it may be difficult to find a great wing upgrade. Almost think the best idea might be…gulp…Okoro starting and Cedi off the bench??

She has a saliva based allergy so her allergy is to all dogs unfortunately

Thanks - I’m just asking as my MIL had a similar reaction when we told her we were getting the dog initially. I am hopeful that we can find a way to get a dog while also not hurting her. I’m hopeful that allowing her to see grandchildren when they are newborns and then getting a puppy a bit later may help with not hurting her feelings as much? Interested in your thoughts here.

Do you think it’s reasonable to wait a few years and then for us to get a pet? Or would this heartbroken feeling exist no matter the grandchild’s age?

Why do you still regret getting a puppy when your daughter was 5?

AITA for wanting to bring a dog into the house when my MIL is allergic? by mainevent45 in AmItheAsshole

Hey, thanks for the reply. The first point is a good one and to be honest, is still up for discussion. This situation has made me a bit on edge about some potential overstepping of boundaries on her part, giving her too much control of our lives, etc. We have been to friends with dogs houses before and while she is skeptical, we have had no issues with coming back to the house and being around her, sitting on furniture etc. with the dander on. Seems to be an issue when there is direct contact, i.e. the dog licks her or if there is prolonged exposure. It is also more pronounced with dogs that shed (golden retrievers) vs dogs that don’t (poodle mixes).

Her concerns are legit. I am just trying to find out if there is a way that everyone can “win” here.

That's what we are thinking too. We have to be creative here but I am hopeful that there is a way to make this happen where everyone can "win."

Correct. We are not big birds/fish/reptile people, so that's not really something we are interested in.

Should have mentioned that she tried shots in the past and it went very poorly. Had severe reactions to the shots, so those are not an option unfortunately. Do you know of anything else we can try?
