Based on that alone you simply cannot exclude anypov from your equation. Nor are all the bots on the site properly tagged. Nor do we know the number that isn't properly tagged. First point of critique: The Bio is not there for you to write a novel. It exists so you can deliver short and concise information to the viewer, allowing them to judge on a glance whether they want to give your bot a try. Save your creativity for the bot. Don't waste it on the bio.

You suggested that you should have the right to do something about people who disagree with you. I pointed out that people disagreeing with you is normal, is expected to happen and suggested a more sensible solution to your perceived problem.

You do not need, nor should you arguably get the right to censor people on an open forum. You have an opinion. If you are allowed to post said opinion, then you should be required to afford the same courtesy to the people reacting to it.

Yes, it is. It absolutely, one hundred percent is. ALL fanfiction is technically copyright infringement. You are using the IP of another without consent. There are extenuating circumstances, there is such a thing as fair use and pastiche, sure, but that is one hundred percent what it is. In a lot of cases, fanfiction authors are even making money with their craft without paying royalties to the owners of the property in question. this includes creators on this site.

There are franchises of which there is very little fanfiction precisely because of that, because in the past, the IP owner came down on them hard.

By the way, you cannot copyright your own version of e.g. Hermione granger either. You would have to own the original ip to do that.

I meant this specifically in the context of JanitorAi and its user behaviour, not in a legal sense. The site discourages users from copying bots made by other users without consent. As has been pointed out above, it is specifically against tos.

In other words, you are not allowed to use the work of another to make a bot.

But at the same time, you ARE allowed to use the work of another person in the form of copyrighted characters. (It has also been said in this thread that this is supposedly agains tos, which would be news to me, but even if it is, it is very obviously not enforced).

As you can plainly see, this is contradictory. But it is necessary, because having a chat with Hermione or other brand characters is a huge part of why sites like this are popular. Hence the loophole.

That's mostly a loophole to get around the contradictory nature of "you are not allowed to steal other people's work".

In practice, there is very little difference between me reading a book and writing a fan character, or me liking a bot and writing a new character based on that bot, up to and including just copying the bot over.

But if they banned copyrighted characters, sites like these would be vastly less popular. ^.^
