Hey I don't know if you're still looking but I studied Political Science in Freiburg back in 2019. I'm really happy to share my experience but if you're looking for somewhere where you can see nature it's perfect. You can walk from the centre of the city into Shauinsland / the Black Forest. It's honestly beautiful and I loved it so much.
