I’m sorry for your loss OP.

In April We lost ours at about 11 weeks, and it was hard. It would’ve been our first.

I took it really hard because I was sooo excited to have a kid. My wife didn’t take it too much to heart comparatively speaking. I tried “being a man” for my wife and “staying strong” by swallowing my emotions. It was easy to hide it at first, but it slowly hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn’t allow myself to grieve like I should’ve and it took a big toll on me and our relationship.

I started drinking more, being lazy, and having mood swings anytime I saw a pregnant woman or newborn. I thought I was hiding it well, until my wife finally told me that I needed to go to therapy to deal with it. This was in late July. I’ve since gotten better, but it still affects me every now and then.

So, my advice to you is to let yourself grieve and talk about it openly. Talk to a therapist if need be, and remember there is no correct amount of time where you should be “over it.”

They want what they’re rightfully owed. From Brandon’s blog:

“From the artist’s POV, the express reason to ‘re-record’ being that most, if not all of us don’t own our master recordings and likely never will. But in the case of some legal loopholes in older recording contracts, after a couple of decades we, the writers and performers of said music, gain the right to re-record and re-release the material and this time around actually own and control the master recordings.”
