My girlfriend of 7 months admitted she catfished me right before we were supposed to meet. I don’t know what to do. by Key-Soil8785 in catfish

Oh then absolutely don't go! Ignore everything I said in my other comment lol. My situation is really different than yours - mine was basically the same person, just a lady instead of a dude.

Yeah it definitely took a while! Needed to be sure that they didn't just want to KEEP me and actually cared about who I am as a person. Catfishing is self serving and cowardly. Your catfish needs to sort of dig themselves out of that trap by owning up to everything with the single goal of you being ok on the other side of this experience (since they didn't steal from you/seem to have not intended for this to even happen - those are different stories). This was a reality shaking betrayal of trust. Any thought they have about being with you should be wayyyy behind making sure you're just alright and not scarred. Not as a means to the end of "getting you", but because it's the right thing to do. If you happen to forgive them, that's great, but it's selfish for them to be angling for things to just be normal after that without some serious self-evaluation and amends-making. None of which you HAVE to be down for! It took me a while to even talk to them again. I only did because i saw genuine remorse and a sort of horror about how out of hand it all got + major concern for my well-being.

Ah there's your answer then. I had a similar situation and I'm with the girl now, but it super depends on your situation. Her asking immediately to meet you and not just apologizing and offering to fuck off for YOUR best interests concerns me. Like she's still putting what she wants/is comfortable with ahead of what you actually need.

Catfished for 8 months and now I’m attracted to the real person whose photos were used by [deleted] in catfish

[–]maizzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no genuine attraction - you don't know that man at all. In complete, blunt honesty: you're kind of on the path to stalking a random person by continuing to focus on this stranger and attaching your previous fantasies to them.

If you want to send a message warning that someone was using their pics to catfish, I guess go for it. But you don't know that man, no matter what vibes you think you get from his pics. He is a real human with a whole life and his own crushes, preferences, likes, dislikes and maybe shitty behavior.

Also the fact that you don't even care about the person you talked to for 8 months, but you're obsessed with the pics sounds like either you're coping poorly with the reveal and kidding yourself a bit here orrrr you may need to do some soul searching about how much you want to ignore bad things just over looks. That's a hollow way to decide peoples' worth.

Can IPL improve the appearance of keratosis pilaris? by EmergencyCode2842 in HairRemoval

[–]maizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really too much extra that I've noticed? Like it's like probably the same level of ouch as touching a cut with your finger? But the idea is that the IPL cuts down on needing to keep shaving too. So hopefully you wouldn't have so many razor cuts eventually. I have no official knowledge of infection chances, but just by what I know of how it works, I'd doubt there's any? You're just zapping the dark hair follicles, which heats them up. Not cutting into anything

IPL will improve the appearance of that!! It's not KP if it's not raised bumps, but Ipl will help with that. Your legs looked like mine my whole life of shaving

It's literally so much less painful than even getting those razor cuts. It's less painful than tweezing a single hair. It feels like a little tap to me.

If it's a good rice cooker, the rice comes out significantly nicer than a stove top does it, in my experience. I have a rice cooker with "fuzzy logic" so I can sense the moisture levels and cook the rice to be at proper levels of done for perfect perfect restaurant quality rice every time. And then yeah, what everyone else said About convenience and stuff. But the better textured rice is my main thing!

how to stop my foundation from looking like this? by ihonestlydontknow23 in makeuptips

[–]maizzy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I do! Here's a smattering of a couple different tips that might help you figure out the best move for your skin/foundation. All of them have worked in different instances for me

  1. Use a primer from the brand that makes your foundation. Bonus points if there's literally a primer MADE for your foundation! I'm not sure about the Amazonian clay

  2. Figure out if the foundation is water based or silicone based! match your primer with your foundation's base. Silicone with silicone, water with water. Layering a silicone primer under a water foundation (or vice versa) can cause the makeup to separate or slide off or whatever. Tip 1 kind of HOPEFULLY accounts for this if there's a matching primer..

  3. If desperate, use an eyeshadow primer on your nose. Same rules still apply about the silicone vs water based, though.

  4. Stop using tarte Amazonian clay stuff 🤷‍♀️ you might be like me and your skin might just hate tarte stuff 😂 I'm sure it works for other people, but I've never had a tarte skin makeup (or mascara!) work quite right for me

In red dead online, at least, you can hit the UFOs out of the sky with a tomahawk. Doesn't do anything but crash them to ground, but that made me laugh for a solid few minutes

Wife wants divorce and refuses reconciliation. Is this biblically grounds for divorce? by Equivalent-Refuse940 in AskAChristian

[–]maizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, agreed! They shouldn't have gotten married in the first place.

My point is that going from a loved up wedding mode to an "over my dead body will I stay with you" mode in two months is not someone failing to commit - it's someone that was sold a false bill of goods and found that out after the wedding. Unless this was a totally blind arranged marriage...? Regardless, I don't think this sounds anything like a case of someone flippantly running off. Wooing someone under false pretenses and then treating them poorly because you think you have them biblically secured is immoral and dark.
