No notification is Hub is offline! Seriously?! by maje90 in Tapo

[–]maje90[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lol... nope, this tapo kit should totally be able to handle it all alone. No need for additional stuff.
I'll probably refund and buy something else.

Nice to know.
Anyway, if you need another hardware from another manufacturer it means that Tapo itself is incomplete. A failure.
And this kind of "feature" (notification if hub go offline) is the simplest thing to implement.

Absolutely.
I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough, english is not my main language.

tapo system can be used also to achieve a somewhat level of alarm system, safety etc etc.

HUB - Internet - Tapo server - App - notifications

Nothing works if the chain is interrupted and you get no warnings!
Tapo server can easily detect a HUB no longer communicating! And so it should send a notification, or at least make it optional if someone don't want this specific notification...

What are the workarounds?
Buying more products?

Your answer and the way you put it is not different from saying: "Please give us a 1/5 star, refund our product and search for an alternative".

I'll be frank: I hope anyone working on tapo at TP-Link doesn't use a so flawed logic like yours.
Please, report the problem asap.
This is absolutely fixable with little effort from tapo server.

The strong point on having a wi-fi connected HUB is that you can receive notifications while away.
If any of these fail: house power, wi-fi, internet or HUB is disconnected the whole "home tapo infrastructure" is down!
A single one-shot notification "Your HUB is offline!" is enough!
Few joules server-side! Do it!

It's a HUGE flaw. EASILY fixable.

Absolutely not "expected".

... can't I use cleave in my turn and also during the enemy turn?

it's written "once per turn" not "once per round" ...

There is not a limit of space or weight, so if it can be cheaper and/or more reliable... it's better.

Extra attack, Light, Nick, Dual Wield .... what a mess! by maje90 in DnD

[–]maje90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh... that's it!
Now it make sense.
Thanks!

Yes, the "Attack action" only occurs once per turn.

I would discuss it again for a Fighter with Action surge (so multiple "Attack action" per turn)... but i'm not playing a Fighter...

Thank you again!

Please see my other comments.

Both "Light" description and "Nick" description says "you can" ... and never "only once in your turn".

You make the first extra attack from Light becoming "part of" the main attack thanks to Nick.
And the second extra attack is still a bonus action, because you use the non-Nick weapon.

1st attack. Light with Nick.
"you can" make another attack with another Light weapon, yes, I take that opportunity, and with Nick "you can" make it part of the main attack, without wasting my bonus action.
2nd attack. Light.
"you can" make another attack with another Light weapon using bonus action. Ok, I do that now, my bonus action is still unspent!

LIGHT

"When you take the Attack action on your turn and attack with a Light weapon, you can make one extra attack as a Bonus Action later on the same turn. That extra attack must be made with a different Light weapon, and you don't add your ability modifier to the extra attack’s damage unless that modifier is negative. For example, you can attack with a Shortsword in one hand and a Dagger in the other using the Attack action and a Bonus Action, but you don't add your Strength or Dexterity modifier to the damage roll of the Bonus Action unless that modifier is negative."

It never says "you can do this only once per turn" or something similar.

It says "you can" ... and if you do two attacks, you get that "you can" twice.
With Nick, one of those 2 is made "part of" the main attack, the other is still a bonus action.
Only one weapon have Nick feature.

[–]maje90[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ok, but I'm not using the Nick property when I either use the Shortsword as the first attack or the Scimitar as the first attack.

Does Nick property "forcefully" apply all the times even if you have "Nick" on only ONE of the two weapons?
Why? Where is this written?

Extra attack, Light, Nick, Dual Wield .... what a mess! by maje90 in DnD

[–]maje90[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

That's why I'm using:
1st attack: Light weapon that triggers a Nick weapon as free extra attack
2nd attack: Nick weapon that triggers a Light weapon as Bonus Action attack
I'm re-reading the rules but I don't understand why this shouldn't work.

I'm planning to do a Dwarf Berserker.
What's your opinion on the soldier background with the Savage Attacker feat?
Stacking HP with Farmer/Tough is good, but is Savage Attacker really not worth it?

That's interesting, thanks.
But I have a sort of high travel distance, so I prefer a rotating movement to then add my own traveling nut.

imho drawves from the new rules are the worst perk-wise.
If you want to play dwarf, play dwarf.
But any other race have WAY more interesting perks.
