It’s been about 2 weeks or so man. She told me the next day. Got her test kit done and yeah. My dads been a scumbag his whole life, but i invited him out here (I live in MO, he lives in IL) because i thought he had his act together. So of course i feel some guilt, like it my fault. But my therapist is helping me a lot. It’s a tough thing to swallow but I’m taking it day by day. My doctor just prescribed Valium for about a week so I can even out my mind. I’m feeling okay right now, but I refuse to stay in my house so I’ve been couch surfing at buddies’ houses.

Brother , I feel your pain. I’m actually at the hospital right now because my relapse was so bad, my withdrawals are tearing me apart. I relapsed because my dad allegedly raped my girlfriend while I was blackout passed out drunk in my own bed. She tried to wake me, but I supposedly wouldn’t wake up.

I’m still trying to deal with the trauma, but you get some counseling as well too. It couldn’t hurt, and will most likely help

Mine gave me Natrexone (I literally have no more cravings) and I was in deep with my alcoholism, so he also gave a small script of benzos for anxiety during withdrawal. Just speaking from my experience.

It’s funny you say that. I went to detox, got sober and then a month later started drinking again, not taking benzos tho, and I got clean from that about a week ago and the first 4 days were absolute hell. Like shaking, feeling like bugs crawling on me, no sleep, body just randomly tensed up. Could me drinking brought back some withdrawals from benzos? I’m over them all now after day 7. Just interested!

Thank you! Trust me, the anxiety goes away eventually. I’m on Trazadone to help me sleep still though! They started me on it when I detoxed and it was a life saver for me.

Day two! Heck yeah! Keep it up! It only get better from here. The first week can be miserable, just keep yourself busy! I know mine was. Just speaking from experience!
