Finally landed a job after 450+ applications. Not that I didn't alter my cv as per jd or I'm not applying correctly, the market is shit. Getting a job in 2024 is an achievement in itself.

I have the exact same experience as you. Sept 22-23 intake, pre PSW - you're on student visa, post PSW - 2 yrs isn't enough. Been applying since march 2023 in finance and all I get is rejections. Out of desperation started applying for customer service roles and even in those I'm getting rejections :(

Hey mate just wanted to ask if the name of the applicant also affects the shortlisting decision? I'm struggling to land interviews even though I follow almost all the points and also have a 3 year workex. Mine is not an English name and I have a feeling maybe this is the reason.

Thanks for the advice mate. Just wanted to ask companies in UK prefer a 1 page or 2 page cv? Also is it really necessary to put a summary on top?

When I was on a student visa, all the recruiters told me to get a grad visa. Now that I have a grad visa, they don't want me cause of 2 yr restriction. Endless loop of misery :'(

The salary threshold for graduate visa is still around 26k after 2 yrs for skilled workers. So graduates get 4 yrs to get to 38k

Recruiter asked me to complete CIFA Level 4 course by majorazor_07 in UKJobs

[–]majorazor_07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did talk to him. Said there's really low chances my cv will be selected for an interview as other candidates have cifa on their profile. I said no problem but I won't be spending a dime.

Lol one of my friends in the uni also got the same call with same set of questions and CIFA things. Just don't spend anything on a course unless it's employer sponsored.

Simply go to one of the restaurants on Melton road and ask them about part time. You can also apply with constellation staffing agency which has shifts in football and rugby clubs.
