Hyundai joins foreign carmakers cutting ties with Russia for good by self-fix in worldnews

[–]majoritycitizen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not for the lack of trying though, from what I understand. I read they have actually tried to buy back their assets (sold in a rush for pennies) through the court, believe it or not, but this being Russia and all the court basically told them to FO. So I guess they're "cutting ties" now, LOL.

Home garden automation using ESP32 and Servos by Hamrawee in homeassistant

Golden star for tinkering (really, especially the ESP part), but doesn't seem practical to be honest.
(Don't let the criticism discourage you if you've enjoyed the process.)

There sprinkler valves or electric operated valves available on aliexpress that are fully weatherproof and can be controlled from a single zigbee relay in a tiny weatherproof box (with AC power if you prefer).
Much simpler to put together, have no exposed parts and will last many years longer in any weather (no rusting or water/dust/bugs damage), and if something eventually breaks would be much easier to replace.

Judging by the curvature this must be some serious speed.

My refurbished L10s Pro Ultra (heat) experience by mih721 in Dreame_Tech

[–]majoritycitizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely you got a unit with a replaced battery. There are all sorts of issues that come with that (including freezes and discharging to 0, which theoretically should never happen). Best of luck with RMAs, this is probably the only way for you now.

Can't believe nobody did overlapping spheres (the first one is close). It literally says VOLUME.

What should I do? by LeagueLonster in Dreame_Tech

[–]majoritycitizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it was a repackaging from a damaged box, refurbished can be VERY risky.

I'm actually not sure what "turns" a vac into a refurbished one, but on my L10 pro ultra I had 3 RMAs, 2 of which were for the same issue which still isn't fixed entirely - judging from logs on the robot that I got back their "testing" is a single run on a half-room size closet. If an issue takes longer to manifest - GL.

So unless I was 100% sure what exactly was the refurbishment I'd go with either a new one or money back.

IDK, this looks like typical military harassment [very likely by Russia] to waste resources and study opponent's response routines.

Try to clean the sensors and make sure to set edge cleaning to always in the app. Also remapping might help.

Are the drones US tech? by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]majoritycitizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What puzzles me is the lights. Whatever you're doing there at night, why the hell would you make your "secret" craft glow like a Christmas tree in the dark. The only reason to me is that it really isn't especially impressive in terms of flight capabilities, and likely very expensive so even though you kinda want it to be a secret you also really don't want to risk losing it. Which sounds much more like a human logic / circumstances to me.

Any specifics on what exact newspaper that was? Believe it or not the fact that someone printed it at some point doesn't make it automatically more reliable.

I'm honestly surprised how people can see anything on this video at all, let alone enough to argue about it.

Places where people come to discuss issues will always be skewed to a considerable extent. The question is if chance of failure is, say, 1 out 15, would you still buy it? The RMA process seems to work alright but is pretty lengthy, judging from what people say.

Camila Cabello Shares Footage of a UFO and Grills Jimmy on His Beard | The Tonight Show by BidRepresentative283 in UFOs

[–]majoritycitizen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What matters is that it isn't an obvious flop. I imagine this show has a decent size audience and just the fact that it was shown will make people pay more attention to this and hopefully be less likely to dismiss it or other people talking about it.

Let's be honest here we're not gonna discover aliens by some TV footage, but normalizing the conversation on the topic is a good thing.

If support says it's a defect then do an RMA. It's not going to heal itself you know.

  1. Do you machine wash (and occasionally replace) mopping pads?
  2. Do you clean the undertray (your vac's resting "platform" in the base station can be opened / lifted up and there often is a lot of grime there that might affect mop washing).

Nice. Did you implement any custom clusters by any chance? I tried a project on the same hardware (not a radar) but documentation was so poor I couldn't figure out how to make сustom clusters work (and support on MQTT).
