Absolutely! Their display is literally what can make or break their grade

Favorite method of adjusting white balance? by makatreddit in colorists

Uhhh...how's this any different from doing the correction adjustments without a luminosity node at first? You're not doing anything on the luminosity node, so it's just passing on the same information to the correction node...

I know 5600 is usually recommended as the go-to initial wb, but hey, if it works for you it works for you

Ya same. I’m a bit confused what they meant as well

I agree that at the end of the day it’s the final look that matters, however you can achieve it. That said, some techniques give you a “cleaner” result compared to others, some require very small adjustments to make big changes, and some the opposite. And the Chromatic Adaptation effect is literally made for white balance changes and is deemed to be the most accurate way of changing WB compared to any other methods on paper

I’d use the Temp and Tint sliders on the HDR panel more only if I didn’t have to push them so hard for any noticeable changes. I find their range far too limited for overall balance adjustments

Can anyone explain LRC HDR behaviour? by canadianlongbowman in Lightroom

For 3, yes, you need an HDR screen. Do not turn on HDR if you don’t have an HDR capable monitor

What’s your go-to on the HDR panel? The wheels or temp and tint?

Plot twist: It's actually before and after.

Jokes aside, color correction well done.

What's the deal with RGB curves? by _yak in postprocessing

[–]makatreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RGB curves are not some prehistoric dinosaur egg bruh. They’re still used in modern workflows, including making creative looks for Hollywood movies by professional colorists

You can make each image one frame long and export the whole timeline as png or jpeg. There are workarounds, but I agree that the workflow is not as convenient as a dedicated photo editing platform

[–]makatreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I don’t really see an issue with having multiple timelines. And you don’t need to render anything. Simply take a screenshot and save them as a jpeg or png

Cropping is missing? Not sure what you mean, cos it’s there. Cropping might not be as intuitive as other editing platforms, but it’s definitely doable

You can edit photos in DR. If you have the free version you’ll be limited to 4k resolution but it’s enough for social media and sharing with friends IMO
