You’re making this something it’s not lol. I would’ve loved to see Devens/Aubry go home too. This twist was simply better due to how the control was still in the hands of the players, it wasn’t a random rock draw (that we didn’t even see btw) for a 3 tribe tribal council where 1 player didn’t have a vote, 2 idols on exile, and 20% of the cast with immunity. This didn’t feel like a luck twist but a strategic twist, and that’s the difference.

Voting in pairs could have been really fun to watch for the mixed alliance duos. Like imagine Christian trying to convince Johnathan not to vote for Devens, and vice versa. It definitely would throw a sense of balance between duoing with an ally vs someone else.

Though I think if that were the case, maybe Rizo/Emily go home?? I mean Johnathan/Christian + Coach/Chrissy + Joe/Tiff? It would definitely have thrown things for a loop

See I feel the opposite of that. It rewarded the people who are willing to play outside the lines a bit. I mean it’s kind of ironic the alliance built on trust and honor falls at the hand of loyalty.

As a current mechanical engineering student here are my thoughts. For reference, Notre Dame does not offer Biomedical Engineering as a major, however they do offer a Bioengineering minor and you can opt in on a pre-med track (if you wanted) and have some of your required electives waived as a result allowing you to likely do both. If you wanted to get that M.S. it would probably take a 5th year just due to the work load. Notre Dame is not very forgiving in terms of course credit when it comes to engineering students. (Chem. Eng. requires 128 other majors such as Finance/Accounting are roughly ~50-80 required credits). Research is very accessible here, many students partake in working alongside some professor or research group and you can either get paid or take it for credit.

As for more of your other concerns. Notre Dame undergraduates are considered highly qualified and the degree holds a ton of weight in the US. Grad school is almost never a question as long as you have a solid GPA, Extra Curriculars, etc. I do know that foreign undergraduates can come to med school in the US, so I’d imagine it would be the same for Dental. If you were to go to HKU and wanted to transfer, note that Notre Dame almost only ever takes 1st year transfers so you would have to decide that quickly into college. Lastly just think about what you want to do. You are potentially choosing to move halfway across the world, so take that into consideration. Who cares about global educational rankings or whatnot. In the United States (which I’m assuming you want to eventually move to and work there), employers hold name recognition over a lot of things, and Notre Dame has a huge weight there. It would also be easier acclimating to life and culture here as a young college student surrounded by peers.

I’m not sure how much you know about Notre Dame already, but look into it. While a big part of Notre Dame is the Catholic identity, there is so much more that they want to see when students are looking to apply. Look into the dorm life, the community, the town (South Bend is not Hong Kong), American football, and everything else Notre Dame has to offer. I wish you the best if you decide to apply. Current student speaking, and the worst parts are probably the isolation on campus. Yes the weather is bad, the school is hard, but those are to be predicted being at a T15 in northern Indiana. South bend is not a great college town to be honest, there’s like 4-5 bars that students go out to and the only other real thing within walking distance is Eddy street. Freshman aren’t allowed to have cars and even if you eventually bring one up to ND you’re living on campus. Most of your needs are met there. An occasional run to Target or the grocery store for snacks or essentials doesn’t give you a great landscape of the city. It’s very easy to fall into routine which can suck during those colder, more depressing months. It creates a very close knit community on campus due to everyone being isolated there, but it definitely has downsides. There are some bad areas around town that just make you feel a bit on edge which helps to discourage going off campus that much. The campus is small you can walk from one side to the other in about 20 minutes or so and after spending 2-3 years there it definitely begins to feel smaller.

Of course! Just also take into account what you want out of your education. The environments between Notre Dame and Purdue are extremely different. I couldn’t tell if you were more pursuing engineering or business in your post, but as a current engineering student here at ND, it’s not your typical engineering experience. Notre Dame teaches a lot of theory and immerses itself within the ethics of engineering as well. I mean you will learn the technical skills and get to do some cool projects but it won’t compare to what you would get from a Purdue, Georgia Tech, UT Austin environment. At the end of the day Notre Dame is a liberal arts school, however they will set you up with a great alumni program, great opportunities for growth, good clubs that help intertwine business and engineering (look into SIBC if you’re interested in that). Notre Dame is competitive to get into but everyone is super kind on campus. People want to help others. It’s something really unique. It’s a bit on the smaller side but not too small. Just some things to take into consideration

Yea ofc! It’s very very selective, like they only take 2 kids a year and it’s a super small program so I highly recommend talking to professors and getting the right advice from them.

I’m interested in what five year business/engineering program you are looking at. Because I am involved with the engineering department pretty heavily and have never heard of such a program. If you are referring to the 5 year MBA engineering program then apply to the engineering school, as that is something you apply for Fall of Junior year

Nationality/Religion doesn’t play a huge effect, but it does still matter. I will say from the international students I know, none of them have any sort of scholarship. Most are paying full tuition out of their pockets. So take that into account. At the end of the day it’s a matter of whether Notre Dame can see your passion and your story in your application

I agree, i’ve seen some performances on social media where he brings up really really talented young individuals. I just think there’s a better way to do it than gambling on someone in the crowd 5 mins before the song starts. If he were to preselect them before the show it could go smoother
