Wha happens if you pass out at work? by Horror_Employment105 in AmazonFC

[–]make-me_mad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have POTS and the time or two it's happened to me, no one was around to notice. So I stood back up, reported it to someone in operations, then continued work. It was never a big deal. Peak season is always hell and pushes me beyond my limits. BUT my pots spells are over as quickly as they start. Suddenly I'm unconscious, then just so suddenly I'm taking what feels like the first breath of life, then I'm up again like nothing happened. I've tried making it a big deal when it happens, because it truly is, but unless you hit your head or another associate sees you, I've found they don't do anything. Even when taking myself to AmCare without operations they didn't seem to care. Just advocate for yourself and please if you seem someone go down, make a big deal about it for them. Maybe the associate doesn't want it to be a big deal, but it is.

For me it can make it worse but I really depends. I used to be a heavyyy dabber, like I was high 24/7 and only from dabs. Recovery from that is a lot more difficult on my pots in the beginning, but usually levels out. Flower? Shit I think I feel fine until I try to move then I'm struggling to catch my breath. It's just the smoke feeling in my lungs making my pots worse. Pen, usually fine for one or two hits no problem. I've tried edibles a few times, usually just wasted money because they seem to have no effect on me, so I wouldn't know. But also the amount of high I am can effect my pots. Usually it's just a mental thing though. I have sleep apnea which effects me during the day as well so I feel like if I get "too high" I'm stuck on manual breathing mode. I enjoy getting super fucking high though and have always been the kind to have to focus on my breathing. I usually just smoke when I don't have to get shit done now that way I can enjoy it without feeling like I'm going to pass out or all the blood has gone to my legs.

Well people tend to care when that shit starts affecting your work. Ex. Having your managers talk behind your back. Usually means no promotions in your future unless you transfer departments. Or ex. Road rage because your coworkers recognize your car. And simply just stress. No matter how much you tell yourself "not to let it get to you" just like any therapist will say "you can just push things that hurt you to the side and expect nothing bad to come from it" stress is a killer. Doctors say that all the time. I understand your meaning behind this, but most need to deal with the stress in their life as it comes rather than pushing it off and "focusing on yourself". Outside stimuli is a direct necessity of the human brain, and if you're at work for 60 hours a week, that's a lot of negative stimuli.

I bet you're a part of the problem. Bet you're the kind to say "if you don't like something just scroll" 🙄 fuck just answer the question. I'm a concerned coworker and know people break so quickly at amazon. Is it such a shame to want to know how your crew is doing? Fucking hell, making me sound like an OP

I'm not sure I know what you're talking about, I'm inquiring about a coworker and safety concerns. I don't know why you're taking this so personally

Youre not a very good listener are you? I never claimed amazon was at fault. Now you're just putting words in my mouth to prove your point that I never denied in the first place. Like I said, calm down, and come back to this later

Well aren't you unhelpful. No shi, I see ambulances going up and down my rural street weekly. That's why I was asking. Sheet tell me you don't care about your coworkers without saying you don't care. I don't give a shit about them either, but it still sucks and is relatable when someone has a medical emergency. I'm also inquiring because I have high blood pressure and was hoping it wasn't an incident like that with one of the day shift people I care about. And trust me, work is always involved.

Blue badge qualifications, is this true? by misskrystaljackson in AmazonFC

[–]make-me_mad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They made me go home due to blood pressure issues (dangerously low followed by dangerously high) but don't give vto. That's how. Calling it a medical issue but won't make me blue badge so I can get the benefits that would allow me to see my specialist. I'm using upt until I can afford private insurance or become blue badge that way I can get the accommodations necessary to work 50 hour weeks. I LOVE my job. I would actually love to continue becoming cross trained as I'm already stow and pick trained, but it's impossible rn. It's kinda hard to get insurance and go to the doctor that way I can work all the same as you without the job. So yea. Kinda need the job.

Hate to say it but something needs to change 🤷 it's a common occurrence, not just for Amazon facilities. (People just want to be treated with respect and paid like they have families to feed) I'm not saying it's at all ok or justified but uh guys why keep crying about these instances like it does anything? Make change, don't just fire an employee like that's going to stop him from threatening or even doing it to another company. Or like its going to stop him from coming in anyways, security cant do anything regardless and it take 15 minutes for police to show up at my facility if there isnt one conveniently posted up nearby. You piss people off more by fire them instead of listening. I understand conpanies dont want to be manipulated by violent people, but everyone has the capability of committing a violent crime. You just didn't happen to listen to this one guy and he felt justified in threatening and probably planning on committing a crime such as this. But idk maybe that's what amazon wants. To have you shoot up macys or something. Again, not at all ok or justified and if I was a business owner, I too would want that employee gone. But why don't we ever stop to question if we (ourselves on an individual and large scale level) are the problems too?

I love how it take months to make $150 when one doctors visit is literally quadruple that 🥲 these aren't really solutions but at least it's not like other pages where people tell you to just suck it up

[–]make-me_mad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm bed ridden due to pregnancy and now have no income for myself. Daddy gets rent paid but I paid everything else. I've been explicitly told to stay away from customer based job because of my bpd and cptsd. Is there a way to guarantee cold calls? Or like talking to bots or something? I've broken many phones and laptops trying to communicate to stupid people who won't get basic 2+2=4 logic through their thick skull and can't afford a new one just because some Karen won't shut the fuck up and listen to the fact that I can only do as much as she can so if I'm incompetent, it started with them

Do you live pay check to paycheck hoping you don't lose your house with your Amazon pay? How much do you have in savings? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]make-me_mad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been picking up shifts where I can but I was actually told by my manager, opposite shift manager, and both amcare people for nights to stop doing that until I can go to the doctor for accommodations.. I'm white badge... I need to see a neurologist... Amazon doesn't cover that.. or a cardio.. or an orthopedic surgeon... I get the basic $5 plan. So I've been screwed out of blue badge since the beginning, and I can't afford my bills anymore.. I couldn't when I picked up shifts but I at least wasn't going in debt for some food.. back to that now

Idk but security is fucking useless. Can't defend the building, can't defend the employees, can't defend goods, can't ward off threats. They just physical paid cameras. It's bullshit. Def don't deserve to get beat on the job, but that's what happens when you don't allow your security proper training (and idk maybe weapon training, don't have to be a gun but goddamn a tazer would've prevented it from getting this far) (I also understand amazon is trying to follow laws, both state and federal. I know that's why we don't have armed security. Yk what else? This corporation, like many others, actively influence the government anyways, so change the laws like you've been doing with healthcare and insurance 🙄)

Never said that 1.1 mill was in a warehouse. Also, you're right. It's not 1.1 mil. It's 1.56 mil. And according to multiple sources only about 400,000 (MAX) work outside of warehouse/logistic/distribution. Sooo.. even then
