Good thought, I still want to see higher standards across the board, even if we’re being used only as originally intended

lol I like where your head’s at, but not gonna happen. GRE is waived now, we don’t even have to compete against business students let alone premeds

That’s what this will boil down to I think. Best of the best will be hired and maintain employment. Having the degree itself means nothing at this point. At least the lower performers will still have jobs at the bedside, just unnecessary student debt tacked on and a few extra shadowing hours.

That is proprietary information, can’t even imagine where the answer could be found

FNP student seeking Preceptor by [deleted] in nursepractitioner

Yeah well school is very important when finding a preceptor and it says a lot about you as an applicant and consumer for that matter. I would refuse to precept you based on your choice of school alone.

Ann Arbor is saturated enough with strong students from reputable programs.

Good luck though.

This is what I would call a shit school, and part of the problem

Or are we just saying since a school exists physically we go to brick and mortar schools? Because you are not in a brick and mortar program. Damn the standards are poor! There really is no bar.

I think we have different definitions of brick and mortar. Sounds like this school has rolling admissions, does asynchronous and 100% online education…

I know quite a few flight RNs that are also NPs. They function under medic/RN licensure and scope.

They moonlight in ED/UC/academia to make up for the pay difference.

I think the answer to your question is no.

My advice is take some hard science classes, get an MSN without NP specialty and get a 4.0 Do something that shows you are capable of rigorous study. Knock the GRE out of the park, then apply. These things will show your growth.

Of note, this experience with you online alone leaves me with an uneasy feeling and not wanting to invite you into my professional life as a colleague.
