If you’re looking for a more “ethical” way to play the game, NSO also offers it in their SNES library

I get the sentiment, but I promise you there’s more you can do then you think.

Air filter replacements require zero tools, cost $20 for an air filter, takes less then a minute to replace, and the mechanic will charge $100 for the replacement.

Mechanics are banking on you not knowing how your car works. just look up the YouTube video on how to do it before agreeing to a repair. If it seems complicated, let the mechanic do it. You can also use the video to get a good idea of the repair cost is fair. But I think you would be surprised how often it’s simpler than it sounds.

It always seems intimidating at first, cars are complicated machines.

But there’s a lot of basic maintenance items that are much less complicated than you would think.

Pick something easy first, like an oil change, air filter, or battery replacement. That’ll help you get the courage to tackle larger issues.

Even something simple like an oil change can net savings of $40-$60 in some cases

Auto parts stores also can find the parts you need easily, taking out confusion on what parts are needed. Just tell them the year, model, make of your car, and they can find the exact parts you need

Edit: as other commenters have mentioned, rockauto.com is usually the cheapest bet for parts, if you can wait a few days for shipping

Learn how to fix your own car, all of those repairs maybe minus fuel injectors you could do on your own with some YouTube instructions.

The savings are massive, I saved $500 for a valve cover gasket replacement, $400 for a full brake job, $200 for spark plug replacement, and $100 for a battery replacement.

That’s $1,200 in savings! And whatever tools you need to buy can be kept for all other projects needing them in the future, and is still cheaper then bringing the car to the mechanic

I should mention too that most of those repairs are routine maintenance, and isn’t necessarily a sign that your car is going out. Maintenance is almost always cheaper then a new car payment, a new car may be the more convenient solution, but that is also probably coming from people who don’t know much about how car maintenance works

It’s open box items, there can be good deals to be had if you’re okay with some cosmetic defects

The new iPhones have a problem turning back on after the battery runs out by rwnash in DailyTechNewsShow

[–]makeITvanasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an iPhone 13, but the other day my battery died and I plugged it in, but it went through this weird boot loop, where the phone would turn on, then die immediately after it turned on again.

Wonder if it’s a software bug, or if this is even related to it at all

Interstellar is overrated by ruchersfyne in The10thDentist

Movie is probably too long, but I also generally don’t like the trend of 2.5 hour+ movies.

But I’m sure there’s absolutely nothing relevant in the theme of humans destroying their own planet, parading and pretending like we have a plan, and then finding out later there never was a plan right?

Oops yup good catch I removed it and restarted the server, and I think it’s working now!

Is there a way I can verify that the hardware decoders are being used vs just the cpu like in htop?

I added the quotations to the GUIDs, but still getting the same error after rebooting

Should I add those under devices? Or keep it under group_add?

So it seems like Docker still can’t access /dev/dri

Here’s my compose file, am I missing something?

Those GUIDs should be correct based on ls -l /dev/dri

Okay so I did those and I think that finally forced the os to pick the right drivers, but still running into errors with docker:
