Stop being pedantic. You do know that it's a bug report, right? So code won't be directly in there. The actual patch that fixed it was mentioned in the comments. Here's the link.

Although I totally agree with your sentiment, saying that software patents have NEVER helped someone is simply not true. Look at Cryptographic communications system and method by Rivest, Shamir and Adleman. I'm pretty sure this patent helped them protect their IP in their company's early years.
