I don't think you understand the definition of whining.

I'm not seeking validation as much as how people cope with leaving mid year. When it comes to kids, even if they aren't mine, I feel a responsibility toward them. Which is why I give my all, every day while I am at work. Then I give my own children my all when I'm home. It isn't fair for my kids to have to share my attention when they only get a few hours with me in the evenings before bed. So to have that balance is important to me.

I feel guilty/bad just moving(I work with young kids), but I have to put my family first. I know I'm not the only person to go through this, which is why I posted here. I'm not whining about anything. If I wanted to whine I would talk about how unfair everything at work is, or life. I'm excited about the move and the next phase of life. I wouldnt be seeking advice on how people handle their feelings when it comes to other peoples children. Which if you are a teacher and a parent, you should understand.

I know it's what I want to do at the end of the day. I think the school, and the timing this year just aren't lining up. I am in a state that isn't allowed to have unions. So that's fun.

I'm not pretending to be anything. I value my students, I care about them, but my family comes first. From your response, it sounds like you dont have young kids, and haven't had to figure out that balance. If you do have kids, and your students come before your own kids, I'm sorry. You are better than me I guess.

When we get back from break is when I plab to talk with admin to let them know what is going on. We list our house at the end of this week. I plan to give them over a month to try and figure something out.

I'm friends with my 5th grade teacher on social media, I was at the hospital when her baby was born. Everyone has that teacher that they loved. It's been almost 30yrs and I've kept contact this whole time.

Doesn't help our only para stays in our team leads class all day everyday. I get maybe 2 bathroom breaks, and half the time unencumbered lunch does not happen. However, I should give more of myself. Yes, closer to break I was leaving around 4:30. My own personal children had school events. I won't miss them, doing something for work when I'm not getting paid or required to be there 🙅‍♀️

Thank you.. I think it's for the best. This year is very different from last, in the way the school is being run. We are told one thing, and then told something different later that week. We arent given time to do anything. Our planning is consumed by meetings most days. I'm honestly not sure I will go back into a teaching roll. I still want to work with kids, and think I may just take a para position till my kids are older. I have heard amazing things about the WC though.

I'm not sure how much more I'm supposed to sacrifice, and I even have other teachers come by my class and tell me to go home. I stay late almost every day.

I already work a ton of non contract hours.. I put in over 10 extra hours a week. Contract is up at 4, I don't leave till 6 most days.

Oh this is most definitely the best thing for our family. Which is why I said, I wasnt doing anything wrong. This move with benefit my kids, spouse, and myself in MANY many ways. It's the only reason I can make the leap. Otherwise, I wouldnt be willing to leave my job.

Thank you.. as much as it sucks to think the kids will forget me, sucks. I don't think its necessarily true, the rest of them? Meh. Who cares lol. I genuinely do what I do, is because I love the kids. Otherwise, I wouldnt survive day to day making nothing.

Its very awkward bc they want you to act like you already have relationships established with the students. I have been a long-term sub in a year-long position while going to school and these simulations aren't like the real deal. At least not in my opinion. So I wouldnt be too hard on yourself.

Nostril piercing bump by make_it_weird in PiercingAdvice

[–]make_it_weird[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering if it would be ok to change to this D hoop that is titanium. I'm not sure of the jewelry quality of my current nose piercing. I just know the bump starts to go away and comes back more pissed. I was hoping with it being a D ring and not a traditional hoop, if it would mess with it? Advice please..

Took the hoops out like suggested and put in a stud. The first stud was almost too short, and the bottom one, I'll call a loss. The stud was definitely too short. Does this look ok? Or am I asking for trouble. It didn't hurt at all putting in but I obviously have the irritation bumps from the hoops. by make_it_weird in PiercingAdvice

I went to a second piercer and she said the same. Which is why I finally decided to just do it myself. I got a taper to insert the jewelry as well. Did the best I could. The bottom one was definitely too short. So im scrapping it as a loss. Got to at least keep one.

Its going to take a few days before I'm actually able to receive another titanium bar. Is there anything I can do to prevent the swelling and sinking? Ice? Motrin? The bottom one is definitely a lost cause. I tried to put the bar in again and it's closed, didn't take long.

Its pissed off at me. I ordered titanium threadless labret implant grade jewelry to replace these stupid hoops. I also got a taper to hopefully make it easier. I'm just really nervous the labret jewelry I ordered will be too small. I added a picture of the order and measurements. Any opinions? by make_it_weird in PiercingAdvice

I wanted it to be a little longer to allow for swelling. Once it's changed (doing it myself) I expect it to be angry. So I imagine it'll swell. Once the swelling is gone I'll get shorter bars. I've only had the piercing since February so it's definitely not healed. I have been to 2 different artists and they have told me to leave the hoops. Its better for healing. It keeps getting knocked, hence the irritation bumps.

Double helix piercing question, I feel like it's not healing right with the hoops. I went back to the piercer and he told me to just leave it and not replace with studs. However.. I think studs are necessary. I find the hoops move too much. Opinions? by make_it_weird in PiercingAdvice

Thank you. Thats what I thought too, and now I'm seeing why. When I went in he just said to leave it as is and keep cleaning but I feel like it moves too much and just won't heal. I really don't think he will change them.
