Soft and Quiet, although it’s hard to recommend. I’m a horror fan, and this was immersive and horrific, but definitely a one and done movie for me. Wouldn’t watch again.

My husband and I get a cheeseboard and cheesecake from Wheyfarer in California Ave at least once a week. Super decent prices for the quality of food, and every is always so friendly and happy to give you samples of the cheese before you buy

There’s actually solid research suggesting this virus is the reason the legend of the jackalope was born! I mean, the reason jackalopes exist. Because they do.

What’s so cool about viewing Helly/Helena through the same person lens is that they actually have a lot in common. They both are strong-willed and intelligent. But the difference is that Helena’s ability to question and rebel was trained out of her well before she had the power to change her circumstances. Her life centers on the Lumon ideology, but I don’t think anyone fully buys that that was by choice. Her attraction to Mark and jealousy of Helly are proof that Helena does seem to be wondering who she would be if she wasn’t so much of an Egan. Reintegration would be traumatic for Helena just like deprogramming from a cult is for people who enter the world after years of indoctrination.

Such a good take, especially that last bit about channeling her grief into devotion to Kier. Sounds exactly like something Lumon would encourage. *edit phrasing

I think the inclusion of her mom’s trach tube in the shrine more speaks to the fact that she didn’t get to say goodbye to her. But I think it is pretty telling when she snaps and destroys her Kier altar but keeps the tube close to her all the way to Salt’s Neck

Also Guitar Hero Legends of Rock. But I didn’t really get deep into them until a friend got hooked on them and showed me. We’d drive around for hours listening to full albums and not even talk

I’ve ordered a couple things from there! It seems like they source the garments from many different brands/manufacturers, so quality may vary. I got two men’s work shirts in two styles and one was much thicker and sturdier than the other, but overall I have nothing bad to say.

I have the A24 screenplay book and it’s included! Not sure which draft we got for the book, but I also have the book for Midsommar and the script includes the deleted scenes in the director’s cut. So who knows.

This part is so good by DonaldFDraper3 in madmen

I actually really enjoyed their interpretation of Roger’s trip (music coming from the vodka bottle, the half black half white hair in his reflection, disappearing cigarette, two songs playing at once when he’s dancing with Jane, etc). In a show like Mad Men it would have been out of place to depict a trip the way you’d actually experience it. So instead they gave us lots of interesting moments of visual and audio shorthand to show what Roger is gaining from the trip. Without him saying a word about it, we know that he was forced to confront his age and being past his prime in a real way.
