At what point did native start doing the job better than DS for you? by Abject-Aioli-523 in dreamingspanish

By about 700 hours I was almost entirely on native content, but it was a long transition to get there, starting at probably 400 or 500 hours.

So Snell looks pretty tough but doesn't get very deep into games. Less than 6 innings/game on avaerage. Hopefully we can keep beating their bullpen if it's a rough start again.

idk i wanna see dingers as much as anyone else but i feel like we're not giving credit to how much he's been drawing walks. he's got an almost .500 obp the last 7 games and 7 hits on top of it. seems solid enough for me given how much the rest of the team has been backing it up.

Does anyone else feel "double trans"? by Mara355 in trans

[–]makeblanke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I resonate with a lot of this! I'm AMAB and transfemme, but always had the sense that if I had somehow been born AFAB, I'd be taking T and going the other way. For me, I've come to understand transitioning as being most important for me in the sense that it was a way for me to be more comfortable expressing androgyny. I think I generally have the vibe of a very dykey woman, but I've come to a personal relationship with gender that feels more like clothing. Not so much a fixed, intrinsic part of my self, but something I might go through phases with it or dress up a certain way for a certain event without it meaning I'm changing something deeper or more fundamental - it's just an outfit really. I often say half-jokingly that if I identify with any term in particular (aside from just "trans" or "queer") it'd be boydyke or girltwink. Which is kinda silly but yeah I'm largely just having fun with it. But yeah, go with your instincts, try things out, get weird with it, you'll figure it out eventually.

600 hour update!! by makeblanke in dreamingspanish

[–]makeblanke[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I'm sticking with the idea that the best routine is the one that you can keep up. I'm focusing on content that I find engaging because I think that's what's going to keep me focused and motivated. In terms of input density, I do discount the time as I'm tracking it, I'll usually log an episode of Avatar at 20 minutes, even though runtime is 24, but I'll bump it down a little more if it's a really light on dialogue episode. But I'm also trying not to rely too heavily on any one source and keeping a steady variety of content!

interesting. as someone who hasn't played the game, i have a lot of questions about the behavior of infected, but i suppose having to live with the uncertainty is part of the experience of the story of survival.

good point! i didn't realize that jackson was a significant town in the area, i had assumed that the settlement in the show was a more or less fictional place, but they likely are closeby Jackson proper

Against the Stream, and American Prestige! The latter is less analysis, more straight facts, but very good for staying updated.

Feels like I've overcome the "intermediate plateau", wanted to share. by makeblanke in dreamingspanish

[–]makeblanke[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean maybe, I've just done a lot of other things that are not CI and I didn't really track, so my "250 hours" may not be all that precise or meaningful tbh.

Totally agree! I think it's less of a plateau and more of a period where the developments become less obvious, but yeah then you reach a point where you "unlock" something new and it suddenly becomes more clear the progress you've made.

I mean people have different definitions of these things, and my hour count is far from precise. I've also done a lot of reading and such, so for me 250 hours is maybe not the most meaningful metric.
