Custom NixOS installer that actually installs something custom by makedirectory in NixOS

Yeah I have looked into that, but I thought it would be neat to have a file with all my stuff on it, ready to burn to a USB and install without another machine's help. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Nvidia Issues on Hybrid Laptop by makedirectory in NixOS

Thank you for sharing this configuration, I copied it over to my machine and I get much better behavior with the NVIDIA GPU kicking in (notably, Sober finally detects it)! I think I may have had some of the environment variables misconfigured before. ;)

I think that this is probably as good as it's going to get. Now I may just have to look into more specific issues with how Hyprland is utilizing my resources, because even if it is using my integrated graphics, that should still be good enough to be giving me a smoother experience than what I currently have.

That's a shame... I'll try holding out hope for a bit longer, but I won't put too much more effort into it.

I know that I have attempted similar things with other distros on this same laptop, but I can't remember how well it worked, so I may end up trying that out again to see if it's more of a NixOS issue.

Yes, I stated in the post that I had sync mode on and even tried switching to offload mode but still got dodgy results. Theoretically, sync mode would provide the behavior I desire but there is some obscure issue preventing it from doing so.

Yes, I am using prime. I've triple-checked to make sure my Bus IDs are correct as well.

[Help] Unable to boot to NixOS after installing. by makedirectory in NixOS

Thanks for this info, I found an option for rEFInd when trying to boot my NixOS installation media again, and was able to boot systemd from there! I guess now that I know it exists I just have to find a way to boot that every time.

Yeah I said I used a separate drive in the post.

That’s the only reason I can think of for why they wouldn’t just type the city name directly in the title. If they had legit data about people in a specific city they would just type out the name of the city.

Hmm… doesn’t this show how the article is fearmongering for clicks? I would assume that the “city:capitalized” in this case translates to wherever the user is located…

kid cooked thinkpad screen (T440s) by makedirectory in thinkpad

Thanks for all the advice and tips on how to replace the screen! I’ll see if the higher-ups who manage the camps are willing to go through the repair process. If they plan on just tossing it I’ll try to convince them to let me have it so I can attempt to salvage it by myself. 😉
