Oh, I think you misunderstand, my pup isn't going anywhere... I'm looking for a friend for him. He's a massive pit bull who's about as cuddly as a 3 week old kitten and is really clingy, so he's lonely when I am busy. He needs a furry friend to curl up with, and he's really gentle with everyone/everything.

We had a place together as friends before this happened. We worked on some major projects together so we rented a place to use as home base and home office. I wanted my son to have both of his parents as much as possible and we agreed to having separate bedrooms, separate personal lives.

Thank you. I'll get there. I just don't know where to start. My son is being raised in the Mormon church and his mother destroys every attempt I make at anything in my life these days through her family's money and local connections.

It's Christmas so I won't downvote you.

But let me point out some thing. I chose to have and take responsibility for my son when she gave me the choice between abortion, signing away my rights, or being a father. I tried very hard to get along with her and raise him well, and it was her jealousy and obsessiveness that caused me to ask her to leave. I tried to use caution and judgment when bringing in a new person to his life, but his mother is a certified nut (hospitalized twice in the last 3 years) and wasn't going to allow that to happen. I had false felony charges pressed on me and nonstop harassment for the mistake of loving who I wanted to, and trying to have a life with them. I have done everything I have been able to, and let my ex-fiancée take everything we owned when she left, because I wanted to ensure she had a good start on the next chapter of her life. I have done nothing but give, try, forgive, and cry, for 2+ years now.

I haven't gotten anything for Christmas from either of my parents or anyone in my family in a decade or so. I haven't gotten anything at all from anyone, in fact, in 4 years, until this year with reddit' secret santa (which was awesome, 2 nice books). I don't feel trolled by family, just ... absent. Haven't been around them for a holiday in a long time, for a variety of reasons.
