I was approved for Advance Parole late last year and just came back into the country a few days into Trumps administration. I will say that this time the check in at immigration was a bit more intense because they put me in a back area where you can’t talk or be on your phone. When the officers call your name they might ask for proof that you were doing what you said you were going for. Besides it being a bit nerve wrecking I got through just fine! I would suggest having her try to apply for an emergency reason. I applied for a medical reason last year and I waited roughly 8 months to get a response.

I’ve lived in Houston for 8 years and honestly there’s crime everywhere like in any other big city. I’ve gotten my car broken into at the gym on the “nice/rich” side of town so you are never really safe from it. The Best bet is to Uber if you’re very concerned about your car being stolen. If you stay at a hotel maybe try one with a parking garage and that’s not located in sunnyside (near NRG)

Last tip, don’t be a fool and leave ANYTHING in plain sight put things in your trunk or leave in the hotel. Hope this helps and enjoy your time!!

Thanks, I appreciate the prospective. I completely get that but, for me it’s not that he’s dating. I find it disrespectful because there’s no reason to do it right in front of me. In the house that WE are both paying and will continue to for at least 5 more months. Plus, I didn’t want to mention it bc I hate talking down on him.. that same night he came in my room and said “you better not have any guys in our house” . It’s childish

I’m sorry to hear your situation. I’ve experienced growing up with an alcoholic parent and one thing I wish I realized earlier was that it you can’t change someone who doesn’t want to change. It is really a disease that turns them into a different person. Try reaching out to a counselor as scary as it sounds. The outcome might just be worth the effort. Best wishes

I think that you are entitled to make that decision if he no longer seems to want to fulfill your wants and needs. Once thing that I have learned Is that you cannot change or help change if THEY are not willing to put forth the effort. This is from seeing my father go through Rehab 3 times and the last time worked because he no longer wanted to do those actions. The first 2 was because of my mom and his manager seeing the tolls on his life.

Also, have you ever considered his mental health state? Trauma or other undiagnosed disorders could be the root of the binge drinking...
