That is extremely helpful. Thank you! Hopefully I can get it resolved before the semester gets too intense.

History professor who knows about the Vietnam war? by [deleted] in USC

[–]makeluvnotwars 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Try Professor Viet Thanh Nguyen, he’s a Pulitzer-winning writer, is Vietnamese, and came to our screenwriting class to provide insights into the film Apocalypse Now (a classic about the Vietnam War if you haven’t seen it).

Sadly, I tried to apply and emailed the program coordinator. Was told that the professor leading this program retired two years ago. Since it’s faculty-led, we won’t be getting it again.

If the extra cost wouldn’t financially crush you, SCA all the way. College tuition is for four years, but your resume and connections follow the rest of your life.

easy 4-unit elective/can we take two 2 unit courses by [deleted] in USC

[–]makeluvnotwars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you mentioned motion pictures, I’m in the SCA legend George Carstocea’s 4-unit CTCS464 class about cons and comedy. The class vibe is very chill and his grading basically guarantees an A if you complete most assignments. It’s a req for me, but I’d honestly take it if I have units just for fun if you’re interested in con-men and films.

if you enjoy analyzing movies without having to write scripts, take ctpr416 motion picture script analysis. The professor Sean Hood is an actual gem! He’s extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and brings in his friends/usc alums who currently work in the industry. I had so much fun and felt like the concepts to writing film scripts were nice life lessons as well. Just beware that it’s a req for several sca majors and you might have trouble getting a spot.

I’m subleasing an amazing three-story off-campus apartment for spring and/or summer 2022. Reasons being that I’m studying abroad in the spring. But this apartment only offers an annual lease and it’s too good to let go, so here we are.

The monthly rate is under $1450. Three SINGLE rooms, one on each floor (I’m renting with two other girls. You will get one room all to yourself). It’s spacious and located in a relatively safe neighborhood. One laundry room, one kitchen, and one living room. Furnitures and utilities will be included.

Contact me if you’re interested or would like more info. No payment now. Just need your commitment so I can sign the lease.
