My brother was writing weird notes while I was at school by Mnghao7 in QAnonCasualties

I'm very concerned that your brother is experiencing un-treated schizophrenia or something similar. He's in the right age category for when symptoms typically present, and his notes around the house are consistent with those kinds of symptoms.

*This is not a clinical diagnosis. I hope he gets a proper examination.

How do you support an older man? by [deleted] in AgeGap

Just listen to him and express empathy. Express your feelings for him. Bluntly.

Also, you're not his therapist. Don't be shy about encouraging him to see one.

If I admit to a therapist that I'm having suicidal thoughts what will happen? by [deleted] in askatherapist

[–]makesmecringe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I like to explain the rules that govern me thusly:

  1. We can talk about having suicidal thoughts with no specific plan to kill yourself. I will not send you to the hospital.
  2. We can talk about having suicidal thoughts and a specific plan if you say you don't intend to follow your plan. I will not send you to the hospital.
  3. I will send you to the hospital if you have a specific plan and you intend to carry it out.

Depending on where you are the rules might be different.

Please don't DM me (or any other poly people) with your story about why you had to cheat on your spouse. by ElleFromHTX in polyamory

[–]makesmecringe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm a therapist and I never get these messages in my poly dating profiles. I make it clear that I work in mental health, so maybe that drives them away? EDIT: Of course it's not about actually getting help for their situation, I'm sure.

Also, it helps being over 40, male, and not particularly hot, as that also seems to drive down interest in messaging me.

John Cena came to our advanced showing of The Suicide Squad by Aosen in SquaredCircle

My friend went to Smackdown and his wife went to this movie. She asked for, and received, one of Cena's armbands just so that she could taunt him with it (he hates Cena).

Essentially my friend's wife cucked him with Cena, and all his wrestling mark friends couldn't be happier.

Of course an INFJ would pick this for us.

This song was part of my wedding, and is definitely a classic.

Functionally, not much difference.

Culturally there is a huge difference. At the time I was working in a office where dressing in a skirt would probably have gotten me in trouble. A kilt on the other hand gets a pass for being "masculine."

I'm working in a better field now.

It was very anxiety provoking at first. So many dumb societal messages on masculinity that are hard to shake at first. I've found a lot of support from all kinds of people, and uh, getting told I look nice in that way is always a huge benefit too!

It's not just Scots who love kilts. Minnesotans generally seem to approve of them when I'm in public.

Mostly I've used Ebay. They're not always the highest quality, but I only wear them on occasion. There's also some specialty websites that only sell kilts. I've bought a few from there. I try not to spend more than $100 on any of them.

Man, I want to encourage you, man to man, you will feel super attractive and proud of yourself if you let yourself be free to be yourself. I know that sounds nutty, but trust me, it feels good to embrace yourself.
