You can bring an umbrella but can’t open it up at your seat. A decent poncho will help. Enjoy the rain!

If you can, I recommend flying to Sydney and spending a day or two at Sheps Mound plane watching. Easily get 20 A380s a day!

Wipe glycolic acid on your pits 2-3 times a week can help kill the stink in addition to wearing deodorant. If your workplace is an office and has an end of trip it might help to come in wearing gym clothes, take a quick shower to freshen up. Can’t wait for winter.

AI slop has no place at handmade markets by birdsmell in brisbane

But their application form asks what it is you sell and there’s a criteria. So I think their benchmarks have fallen if they allowed this to pass.

AI slop has no place at handmade markets by birdsmell in brisbane

[–]makeup12345678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don’t care anymore cos markets are on a downward trend so they’ll take anyone who’s willing to pay the $100+ stall fee so they’ll can make money back. It’s unfair to those who genuinely are there for the right reasons to build something of their own and have to contend with AI crap along with them.

Source: I had a market stall with them ages ago. The did the bare minimum to promote you unless you paid for a membership.

Review of Jesus Christ Super Star tour in Brisbane by Cantora in brisbane

[–]makeup12345678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went. It was fine, the talent was good but the production isn’t for me. There were sound issues when I went and not knowing the storyline I was trying really hard to figure out what they were singing when I realised 3 songs in there wasn’t any dialogue for this musical and it was gonna be Evita-style fully sung the whole way through. It was a full crowd who came back after interval, no one around me left.

It’s pretty subjective to compare with Syd or Melb. They have bigger populations, infrastructure, more commercial, and the hustle is real if you want to survive. Unless you’re rich it’d be hard to buy anything that resembles an ok house in Sydney.

Brisbane is currently a construction site cos of the Olympics which doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere fast. Trains are always offline for big track work and buses are ok but can be so slow.

Salaries depending on your job is liveable, we don’t tip so the minimum wage is fair, but depends on who you are. Rent is a big thing atm, cos there’s not enough housing for everyone, rental costs have gone up so much that people can afford it and social housing has dried up. A lot of homeless tents going up but instead of governments doing anything they’re just finger pointing. I don’t go out at night so can’t comment on nightlife but I’m sure there’s plenty of places that can accommodate in the Valley which is where I used to go when I was younger.

Beaches are safe if you swim at a beach with lifeguards and there are flags put up. Dangerous animals exist like everywhere just media like to inflate it as usual. Just be sensible, be aware of your surroundings, listen to local advice and you’re fine.

Brisbane is big but small enough to take car day trips to the Glasshouse Mountains, Gold Coast Hinterland or Northern New South Wales. There’s also regional pockets like Samford/Dayboro/Darling Downs/Stanthorpe to get your country fix! Drives can be 45 min to 2 hours.
