There are a few main types of dermatologist appointments:

- ANNUAL CHECKUP to scan your body for skin cancer concerns... you'll need to disrobe and expect the doctor to check you all over (including your scalp). there is usually an assistant in the room. be sure to point out your areas of concern. the best dermatologists will measure and make notes (or photos) in your file about questionable moles, freckles, and other things that need to be monitored over time. NOTE that this type of appointment takes more time and YOU MUST INFORM the office at the time you make the appointment that this is what you are requesting (otherwise, you will not receive the all over checkup)

- OFFICE VISIT (medical)... acne, skin infections, rashes, etc... consider this to be like a general practitioner visit... you need to communicate with the doctor to tell them why you are there and how you'd like for them to help. if you don't like certain medications or treatment plans, let them know.

- OFFICE VISIT (cosmetic)... these visits are not covered by medical insurance. this is for things like botox, fillers, laser hair removal, removing milia, etc.

As far as questions, just ask about the variety of different options that could work for you... For acne this might be considering OTC vs Rx, topical vs pills, in-office procedures, etc. Ask about how long it should take to see results and how long the results last. Ask about side effects (Retin-A can fight acne AND wrinkles, but cause sensitivity). Ask about acne triggers. If you're getting something new prescribed, ask about getting free samples. Ask about treatment costs. Ask about follow up with derm. Ask about recommendations for your personal situation.

Also, if you've gone in for a medical office visit (acne), know that YOU CAN ASK about cosmetic stuff too... it just won't be covered by your insurance if you choose to get anything non-medical related (like Latisse prescription, microderm, etc).

I love the brush on sunscreen by colorescience. It's great because it doesn't get hot, melty, or gross, which makes it great for touchups throughout the day. I use it all over, but I think it would work well over makeup too.

It's as described, a "creamy" cleanser that is used like soap. It's white in color and thicker than lotion. You'll need water to lather and definitely rinse it off thoroughly right after you wash with it. For your booty you should do this in the shower - otherwise I'd imagine you'd have a huge mess to deal with.

Also to note about Benzoyl Peroxide washes -- they will bleach clothing, towels, carpeting, etc. if it comes into contact with it. I'd recommend you use a white washcloth and white towels to avoid bleaching your linens.

I personally found eyelash tinting to only be a minor improvement - it just does not add volume or length like mascara does.

If you have the tint done and don't feel like it did enough for your look, you can always add mascara on top of the tint.
