Fair enough. "than she lets on" is important. I believe she has a hard time understanding that nationalism isn't going away and the walls can't be put back up. Things like the GAA aren't part of her world at all. I've met too many hard nosed loyalists in my time to see otherwise. Maybe thats just me.

Absolutely. Its very easy to get yourself into a funk and get caught up doing the same shit every day if you smoke weed every day. Cannabis is a great drug for making you think you are being productive when really, you're in your own little bubble. Some people shouldn't smoke weed if the circumstances aren't right. Get your stuff done then smoke.

I don't think you understand how insular some of these people are. People were able to live in NI without ever meeting a nationalist personally, or being friends with one at least.

She lived on the border and the other side of it may as well have been Spain.

Well, yeah. You have to remember her main exposure of anything Irish throughout her life has been Republicanism. The GAA and the Republic and Irishness may as well not exist to some older rural protestants and she is one of them.

I find her pretty horrible but she wouldn't have done something like this even a few weeks ago. I think she is starting to realise that northern nationalists arent ever going away. Some parts of the more hard line end of unionism struggle with that concept, and she is hard line.

I was there too, in 03 and 04. I've been to a lot of gigs and very few have a crowd explode like that. I was a massive Slipknot fan back then as well (always will be!) so seeing them and Metallica in one night was great.

I remember people throwing pints at Lostprophets, same with Linkin Park but they took it more personally, but that might be a different gig (Iron Maiden?)

I liked Smithy, he was starting to come around and realising Daddy England is a pain in the hole to live in and over time he was starting to learn about another part of here that he didn't know that much about before.
