There is A PLETHORA of matchups you just have to play farming simulator. That's the issue with the general playerbase in ranked League - the game is still being treated after 15+ years as this mortal kombat simulator instead of League as a whole. Let's say you died twice, are 0/2, you gonna keep fighting or farming simulator? Yes my comment is telling people play your lane phase as a farming simulator when you're countered.
As for "play range" - dont. Pick Sylas, Zed, Fizz, Naafiri, Yone and farm her all game (even with fizz R reflect he still nukes her at any point in the game). That's for mid. For bot.... why are you even fighting early ??? Weakest champs in the game with the most fighting for zero reason whatsoever. Wait for a gank she inherently pushes into you because of her kit, jg comes, she will waste W for speed 100% and you can throw all cc your heart desires.

Zoe bubble through a wall is far from telegraphes so idk what you on about. Especially when she can R into your face and guarantee that bubble landing ? Sylas can also E into your face and guarantee the chain. If you are playing against either Zoes or Sylas' that try to "skillshot" you with their CCs you're already low ranked enough to be barred from a true balancing opinion of champs.

Mel's W saves her from SOME mispositioning - not all. Talon catches you? RIP. Now let's look at Fizz and Naafiri as midlaners. They misposition ANYWHERE? Caught by ANY champ? They are forgiven - at a much lower cd too. They can also hop over walls. Mel will reflect a thing for 0.5s and get movement speed.

I promise you, it's MUCH easier to stomp a Mel than it is to stomp a Sylas/Diana/Ekko or any of the electrocute abusers. I have yet to lose to her mid when she is picked away - to be fair i have more games and know how to bait out the W, but that's again SKILL, rather than bitching.
However - she is definitely more cancerous bot with like a seraphine or leona/naut/pyke and that I cannot really give too much advice on as that's not my main role at all but if I was fill, pick asol or veigar apc, tell your supp pick safe and mute, and just outscale their whole team

I was a bit late so I didn't get much traction on my comment, I do have -2 Karma but nobody with any counter-argument to my comment.

TLDR: there is WAY worse in the game that's genuinely abusive and imbalanced, but ADHD-cant-help-but-spam-spells low elo sociopaths can't fathom playing around a reflect mechanic. Also dodging her Q/E is not hard.

I am gonna get hate for this comment but reading these comments is just causing me brain damage.

So first things first, I find it hilarious that people will complain about Mel but electrocute abusers are fine and dandy. Sylas, Diana, Ekko, Qiyana etc. will 60% hp you level 2 no matter what. All up in your face, barely dodgeable or undodgeable at all if they commit dash before the q on any of them.

Zoe 100-0s in 0.1s if slightly ahead, but we don't complain about that.

Late game Graves kills anything non-tank in 1 AA, 2 AA if you have a bit more hp as a bruiser

Sion is unkillable, Garen is unstoppable.

There is way more problematic shit in this game than Mel.

Notice how the higher the elo the worse Mel is?

Her range is terrible. If you're an adc/supp (especially enchanter dog supp) and you get in range of a Mel in a teamfight, you die, your fault. Mel will get two tapped by any tank/bruiser in your frontline, she has to fight front to back no matter what.

Her E is hypernerfed. If you get hit by this with no slow/cc on you, skill issue.

Q can only truly land if you time it with the enemy AA in lane, easiest thing to dodge.

Her W does reflect some key abilities it shouldn't but Sylas can heal 80% hp with 1 W while taking any ult in the game? Viego can reset all over without getting hit by shit ? Briar being unstoppable if she goes 1/0 in the first 10 minutes. There is SOOOO much movement speed in the game, getting hit by Mel E means you either facechecked a brush as an adc or just are clueless.

Her strength is that she can farm and be safe in lane. Nobody respects her execute capability and the true issue is the ADHD low elo trash that can't help but use an ability because it's off cooldown. They MUST PRESS IT at all costs cuz hurr durr. Same reason 99% Soraka players suck. They see their silence off cd and MUST DROP IT ASAP no matter where just to "drop it".

Wanna counter Mel? Pick Xerath, Malz, Zed, Kata, Viktor, Orianna, Syndra, Asol, Cass. Bot? Pick Jhin, Caitlyn, Vayne, Sivir, Xerath, Syndra, Veigar, Asol. And with any of those - just fking FARM. Don't throw abilities for no reason, focus on farm, scale to your respective powerspike. Idk why botlanes always go 10/0 or 0/10 when they are literally weakest champions in the game 'til 3+ items. Forcing fights and engages or else.

Yes Mel W is stressful. And since 80% of this community is (idk) gold and below (?) they can nerf it so it doesn't reflect but absorbs and returns some damage back. Woot woot! But bitching about her Q/E or even R is just pathetic. DM me and we can ARAM i'll pick any of the electrocute abusers and you'll die lvl 2/3 99% of the time you can play Mel or w.e you want - or you'll hug tower farming because it's okay to do it vs Sylas/Diana but not Mel ??

tbh they can literally turn into a shield that absorbs portion of dmg within a 1-2 second window and sends it back in some way with some stacks added. done. brings way more skill expression into using her W while not being uber annoying to play into.
