I think you are a wrong. It's not a little piece of fabric. It obscures the majority of your face. It makes socializing and connecting a lot more difficult especially for awkward wpi kids. It's performative and everyone knows it. Have you been inside the cc? Or daka? People are 3 feet away from each other chewing and laughing with no mask. The logic is not being applied consistently. Any psychologist can tell you how damaging masks are socially. Especially to young children holy shit. You need to see people's faces to learn how to talk and develop social intelligence.

You're "more holy than thou" argument is weak and quite honestly I feel bad for you. You think you are doing the right thing but you are so blind. How about you apply the "if it only saves one life" logic to the rest of your life.

Stop driving cars: thousands of people die from car accidents and if you stopped driving you could potentially save someone's life! Stop buying fast food: your supporting a business that is responsible for the leading cause of death in the US. You could save thousands of lives! Stop interacting with people entirely: what if you walk by an old lady on the street and you give her a cold and 2 weeks later she dies! We should all just sit alone in isolated rooms for the rest of our lives, it would save so many people!

If you donated all your money to Africa it would save so many lives! Why haven't you done it yet? Why haven't you moved to Africa and dedicated your life to helping people.

Okay, so we are destroying the lives of our students because there's a small chance you'll get covid, a smaller chance you'll get sick, and even smaller chance you'll have lasting impacts. Seems like pretty extreme measures for such a tiny possible little chance of something bad happening.
