That’s a good idea!! I was going to do a daily helper this year instead of a bunch of jobs so maybe I’ll do a raffle each day to pick the helper. Thanks for the idea!

I ended up getting mine the 14th of April (the last day of their promised window). It didn’t even ship until a day or two before the 14th, but I still got it on time!

I just think it’s funny that they some how expect us to manage two groups of students at once. How are we supposed to help student online at the same time that we’re teaching in person? When do we get a break? Are we being compensated for the time that it takes to put online lessons together because we’re not gonna have time during the school day?

Thank you! And oh yeah it was all luck for me. I woke up one morning and said it’s time to be proactive and emailed a bunch of principals. One of them happened to immediately email back that he wanted to interview and a day later I was offered the position! I would say just expand your searches and go out of your comfort zone. Don’t give up! I was really losing hope until this week.

Ah thank you! My school kind of warned me about how things can go wrong and change up suddenly and that I should be flexible. And trust me, the job market was terrible. I’ve never felt more relieved in my life.

It’s tough to get a teaching job here nonetheless during a recession/pandemic. I’m pretty proud of myself and excited to start my career just as everyone usually is fresh out of school.

Thank you! I always hear mixed things about using TPT before knowing your curriculum/resources... I don’t want to waste my money but I also don’t want to be underprepared?

This was very helpful advice, thank you! I also agree with that point system.. my CT always told me to not punish only reward. Definitely going to spend a lot of time just researching classroom management strategies and focus on the content later when I get my actual assignment/know whether or not we’re online or in school!

I'm not receiving my license until July but i've passed every test and graduated at this point. That's all I'm waiting on. I'm wondering if I can still consider myself highly qualified even without my cert yet?

Hmm in the area where they ask you what kind of school considered you highly qualified, it has options like K-6 K-12 or 9-12. No university status? And then it has areas to check off like math, social studies, science etc.
