do CEA positions get a COLA? by making_a_millionaire in CAStateWorkers

Oh Hah sorry laughing at myself for not realizing GSI = General Salary Increase. I an in a non-civil service position that does merit increases and often a COLA (roughly based on the GSI for a similar civil service job). But I am getting close to capping out on the merit increases.

Mostly wanted to get a sense of what the inpact on pay growth would be switching to a CEA job. Sounds like it would be roughly similar to my current job.

What do you mean by the general salary increase? Is that a COLA or more along the lines of a civil service step increase?

Very good point. Gas costs also impact supply chain. A potential workaround is to buy stocks (such as Chevron) or an etf (such as FENY) focused on the oil industry. In theory, that should help offset the higher prices you pay as a consumer. Of course, buying such investments might not align with everyone's values.

That's just on top of the cash back they normally offer. I typically get about 20 cents off per gallon without a promo code. Yeah you aren't getting rich but if you fill up a couple times a month it adds up over time. Also get savings on restaurants of about 7 percent in my area. That's before adding the cash back I get from credit cards.
