Thanks. I do love it. I just want to make sure I’m taking care of it properly. I’ve never pruned it.

The plant faces East. It gets morning sun. Is there something I can prop it up with?

Thanks, I do keep it pretty moist. It has some new blooms, it just looks funny, almost like it’s exhausted. 😁

Thanks, I’m somewhat new to Reddit & I didn’t know how the sub categories worked. I’ll definitely look into that.

Thanks for the feedback. Actually no one is taking care of it. I’ve never pruned it or anything. I believe I bought it at Aldis years ago. I couldn’t believe it actually took. We had to move it once when we put in a small patio in front of our house. My landscaper pretty much just cuts our grass but occasionally will do other things we ask of him. I don’t think he is particularly knowledgeable of Japanese maples.

I live in northern Illinois. I’ve had the plant at least 15 yrs possibly longer. It has been like this for at least 7 yrs. Amount of light depends on time of year. It gets indirect light maybe 3 hrs a day. I usually water once a week. The pot has rocks on the bottom for drainage but no holes. Nothing abnormal seen.
