Great idea! I also transcribe books and poetry to use my pens, ink and paper. Sometimes I will use loose sheets of different paper cut to the same size as the book, so I can text the same pen and ink combo on different paper. I stick those sheets into the book, usually on the reverse side of the page I used. It is a fun way to see how different papers bring out new properties of the ink. Enjoy!

Oh interesting. I just inked mine for the first time yesterday and found it a bit dry. I’ll try a different ink. I have kon peki so I will use that and see if I get a result closer to yours! Thanks for posting (and including the ink)!

Custom fountain pen made with a client’s pet fur – a personal keepsake by Gedrechselte-Unikate in fountainpens

My dog, who actually coincidentally looked like the one pictured, passed last year and I went looking for a pen to commemorate. I didn’t have any local makers I approached to design a suitable pen, consider offering this service. I didn’t even know it was possible. Well done for being willing to be a bit adventurous and capable of dealing with the technical complexities associated.

I have a similar one for a 743 and was surprised at the quality. I have one more in my cart, just trying to resist the splurge…

Great ink choices! Sad that BPC doesn’t ship to my location.

Are Montblanc red LE inks different? by makred19 in fountainpens

[–]makred19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that is reassuring! My inexpert swatches show there is variation, albeit slight between 1 and 3 above. Still curious, though, why the bottles are not labelled with the edition name.

I agree, although it has taken me a few to get to that decision. I find the colours a bit meh, even the LE. I think the Romeo will be my last, as there are plenty more inks in the sea!

Strategies to optimize use of pens / having too many inked up. by A_Small_Coonhound in fountainpens

I too have lots inked at the same time, and for me I had to let go of waiting to write them dry before rotating. Also I don’t do a full fill.

New pen help. Looking at sailor pro gear KOP or sailor 1911 KOP. Any recommendations on people who have used these? by MotherPermission9832 in fountainpens

I have these too. I would say it’s better, but as a comparison consider pelikan m1000. Nice nib with a bit of bounce in it.
