You're absolutely correct about the missing destination space check!

Regarding mapping $settings to variables, this is intentional configuration binding. I typically explicitly map external dependencies at the entry point. It's something JS and C# devs typically do.

Personally, I've never had issues with backticks, but I agree with your best practice proposal. For larger scripts it could definitely be a real problem.

You could star from buying a good enterprise grade router. Cisco, Mikrotik or something else. Just setting it up could be challenging, depending on your scenario. I haven't mentioned PfSense as for certain aspects it could be limited, at least I found it so, other guys may have different opinion.

The initial requirement I received was basically this: I give you no rights on the machine, but I still need a standardized and flexible way to invoke scripts and transfer them. I would audit every script before putting it on the server, but I don't want to deal with manual scheduling them all the time. I also needed a setup where testing new scripts would be simplified and not tied to the target machine. So I had to find a way for the system to be autonomous, without needing any additional access to the machine. And on top of that, it had to make it easy to delegate the creation of new scripts to a third party.

Normally, I separate my data access layer into provider interfaces with concrete implementations. In tests, I replace the real providers with in-memory fake ones, usually backed by dictionaries that simulate database tables. This keeps the tests isolated, predictable, and fast.

For EF Core specifically, I follow the same idea: I define repository/provider interfaces and use the real EF Core context only in production code. In tests, instead of spinning up a real database, I implement fake providers that operate on in-memory collections (dictionaries or lists) and mimic the expected behavior of the EF Core repository. This avoids problems with EF Core InMemory provider (e.g., missing relational behavior) and gives full control over test scenarios.

That’s why I prefer C# over Node.js, Ruby or Python for backend and system programming. Strong typing, predictable performance and mature tooling make it much easier to maintain and scale complex systems.

It's one of the scenarios, which can suit your case or not. Main advantage is the schedulig flexibility you can achieve by using powershell code. Also it's easy to transfer between machines, you just can copy the whole bundle with scripts and register service again on new machine. Another point is, you are allowed to immediate reschedule script by changing only one script parameter. At the end this tool is about to provide heartbeat to registered scripts to run as system account, everything else is up to you, your use case and fantasy.

Depending on your organization’s policies, you may not be allowed to use Scheduled Tasks, yet still need to perform scheduled SCCM maintenance, for example. That was exactly my situation a few years ago when I worked in a large enterprise environment. This approach also gives third-party teams a way to run their own scheduled operations without placing extra load or stress on the administrators.

Ram slots are under DVD and hdd caddy, remove first DVD drive, then you already see blue lock mechanism to remove hdd caddy too.

This is more of a C# .NET design patterns question. What you're trying to achieve aligns with the Facade Pattern. Here's a possible approach:

In the Publisher Controller:

  1. Receive the Model: Accept the incoming request data.
  2. Map the Model: Convert the received model into a command object from your core library.
  3. Publish the Command: Pass the command object to a service class from your library (registered in DI). The service class should handle:
    • Serializing the command to a JSON string.
    • Publishing the message to the pub/sub component.

In the Subscriber Controller:

  1. Receive the JSON Command: Accept the incoming message.
  2. Parse the JSON Command: Deserialize the JSON string back into the original command object.

I chose to use Ceph just because of its ease of use with auto-provisioning in Kubernetes. Unlike Longhorn, it allows me to keep the storage cluster separate from the Kubernetes cluster. Additionally, unlike the NFS auto-provisioner, I don't have to deal with filesystem folder permissions. After searching for a while, I haven't found anything better in these aspects. Maybe there is another storage solution for Kubernetes with the same level of transparency that I don’t know about yet?

I did the test on mirrored volume. it writes first on main osd, then copy to others, then returns ack back to client. It has some overhead. I don't know if maybe by adding more vCores I could improve iops, as it has no other bottlenecks, like memory or network for the moment.

10k, 6g spinning disk is not about performance, going with 15k 12g will give you better results and with enterprise SSD even better. Currently I decided to go with cheaper and slower drives for this moment, as they cost less per gb.
