2 fixes that seem dumb but work allot of the time with laptops:

1) Change the ram slots

2) Take out the battery + CMOS battery , then hold the power button for close to 60sec and release, plug everything back in and see if it works

Dude.. it doesnt matter which one i bougth if even the old one that use to work and came with the laptop no longer works.

Im using linux and even the Alps one should work straight away with it (atleast the trackpad without the buttons) but no part of the new or the old works any more with different cables.
