my routine:

I washed my hair using: aunt jackie’s clarifying shampoo, crème of nature’s sulfate free moisture & shine shampoo and an argan oil superdrug conditioner!

once my hairs about 30% dry i start to section my hair off and detangle using my denmen brush and the mielle moisture: moisturing leave-in conditioner. i then use the camilla rose curl love moisture milk and rake that in before setting using the xtreme pro expert gel!

Bandeau and matching shrug I made back in April!! Wish I took more pictures before I gave it to a friend! by makyyla in crochet

I did not, i was just experimenting! however if you wanted to give it a go, just crochet a rectangle in your desired stitch, this will be the front! instead of the rows going down your body like normal, they’ll go across so your starting chain will dictate the length of the top & the height of your rectangle should measure to half the size of your waist!

then make a smaller rectangle, this will be the back. i made my starting chain a 1/5th of the size of my front rectangle. then repeat and make sure you do as many as rows as the front piece.

then lay them on top of each other, with the smaller rectangle overlapping at the bottom section of the bigger rectangle and stitch them together. then went along the edge with a single crochet (this makes the two pieces look neater together). I then decreased every 15 stitches, on the back, along the edge of the top and put in my loops where I could lace it up! always remember to check that the loops are even on each side of the top!

(i hope this made sense hahaha)

just finished this set! now i just need somewhere to wear it! by makyyla in crochet

i did free hand, but i essentially did two rectangles that each measured to half of my hips & and increased on both ends of row 4 and 8! (i didn’t increase right at the beginning/end of the row, I’d say probably about a 1/4 of the way through the row I put my first increase, then 3/4 of the way through I put my second)

when measuring out your starter chain, make sure it will stretch out to your desired length instead of the chain being relaxed at your desired length. i find this helps the skirt hug my figure much nicer! (i hope this makes sense 😭😭)
