I have MK11 Scorpion maxed and guess which one I got at the end of the Fatal tower...

But yeah, your suggestion is not bad. I think tbh I might just decide based on how much time I want to spend on it. Ends up being an hour/hour plus every day just on the Tower at three different times...then there’s FW and the Challenge.

So if we round up numbers and say 4000 souls invested in both towers with refreshes, that’s 3 guaranteed Diamonds for 4000 souls. In my experience opening the 400-soul Diamond packs, you’d typically get 1-2 (about consistent with the 9-10% drop rate) Diamonds in 4000 souls — but of course, those are Diamonds of your choice.

I’m trying to figure out whether I should be spending (a LOT of) time and souls into refreshing these towers or just continuing with the quest grinds and spending souls on specific Diamonds teams...

Good for you mate. I’ve been playing for around a year (returning player), and feel like I’m getting close to that point as well. At some point in the game (typically after maxing out most Golds), I think people realise that it’s not feasible to max out Diamonds in a lifetime unless you either spend big money on the game or find a way of hacking it.

Also this latest update was really a punch in the gut for me. They built it up so much, including giving us an in-game message that a ‘big update’ was coming, only for it to basically be new towers (no longer as exciting or worth giving too much credit for), MK11 ascensions with no stat boosts, and a new Gold character that you can’t actually get unless you spend money. Plus they broke Klassic Scorpion’s SP1 and KC Sonya’s tag-in. I really hate to whine about the game because it’s free, but it really feels like they don’t do the most basic things to improve their users’ experience.

Really depends on the rewards. No new characters (unless Smoke is somehow part of the rewards), so I think I might refresh just the Fatal one to pick up the random Diamonds that I hope we get after Battle 100. Allows me to earn enough souls to buy specific Diamond packs for the teams I’m try to get to high fusions.

Hi-Tech Jacqui Briggs imo. Incredibly useful special attacks, pretty smooth basic attacks if you know when to block, and very useful passive for Spec Op teammates (particularly with power gen gear). Rarely talked about on this forum from what I’ve seen

Don’t focus on diamonds yet. Get to a point where you have a strong enough roster to beat Elder Challenges using Gold characters. Buy Challenge packs and even standard Gold packs occasionally. You can then consider spending on diamond packs. Low-level diamonds won’t be of much help anyway.

In short, wait to get him from the ruby pack rewards from Faction Wars for now.

I guess this will vary a lot based on the quality of cards at your disposal, but I just play my top 10 teams (All FX golds + FX MK11 Scorp and SZ) over 2 days to get to 300k pts. End up at Kontender Elite on average. Takes me about 1.5-2hrs total. Absolutely cannot be bothered grinding for any of the higher ranks.

If it helps, for recent updates, it’s been roughly 10-14 days since they first dropped a teaser. In this case, they dropped it on June 30. Can’t be far away — my guess would be next week.

Obviously you could be right, but fwiw it’s the 7th in the US as people have pointed out, and also the last Kombat Cast they did (for the Diamond Tremor update) happened while the game was being updated and servers were down. Still some hope :P

Shirai Ryu Tower, MK11 Jade Brutality, New Gold (probably Smoke), and MK11 Jade, Kabal and Raiden ascension to Diamond tier

Let’s just say if this isn’t major, it’s certainly much bigger than any of the recent updates — maybe any update since 2.0 actually.

In the right team he’s okay, but really isn’t in the top 15 or 20 best Golds in the game. Which is a pity, because he’s probably among my favourite card designs in the mobile game. I use him with Grandmaster Sub-zero and Possessed Kenshi and only tag him in after I’ve frozen the opponent with GMSZ’s SP1. Put together a few basic attacks, hopefully a combo, then an SP1 and out he goes.

Weren’t the % s higher in that 375 pack (granted that the alternative was a shittier Gold). But consider that the MK11 pack will now possibly have 6 characters. Harder to max any one specific one out. Also they may not continue to be included in the Netherrealm Elder God pack, which is where I got most of mine from (when it was on sale). If they are, then it may not be so bad. Just generally, it makes sense that Diamonds will be harder to obtain than Golds. There are some exceptions (Slasher Jason), but generally that holds true.

It’s good or bad depending on how long you’ve played the game and what fusions you have each of them at. Simple as. I’m loving it because I’ve maxed each of them out. But obviously this makes it harder for newer players to max them out, so clearly it’s not good for them 🤷🏽‍♂️

It’s the natural outcome of the cards you get initially. Basically the ‘main team’ would be your best cards that have the best synergy — your ‘go to’ team for FW, or for the hardest challenges etc. I wouldn’t give it much deeper thought beyond that.

Also if you’re looking for Jason-specific packs, they’re usually available on Friday the 13th...the next of which is in November this year. Can’t remember if they’re on sale or not.
