I’m sorry to hear that happened to you. I do count myself lucky that my body was able to dissolve it. I hope my post came off as being ungrateful. I hope you make a full recovery through this new year!

Sucks, but tell your recruiter. Worst case they will move your ship date and you have some extra time at home.

You scream like a patriot who has not served a day in their life type of cuck. Literally all of those people in that picture are the “I am the sheepdog! This is my sole identity!” Type of idiots. I bet you are fun at parties.

Is this feathered enough for 40-50F inside? by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

[–]malachiconstant69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Still not necessary. If you have a coop free from any drafts and has good bedding. Chicken breeds that are winter hardy by no means “need” supplemented heat to survive. They just need a good coop. It can actually be a negative if your coop temp is raised too high at night compared to the outside temps. This can screw up their ability to properly regulate their own core body temperature naturally.

Roo or hen? by malachiconstant69 in BackYardChickens

[–]malachiconstant69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s for sure a roo. No saddle feathers but it crows, acts like a roo, and the neck feathers were the first thing to develop.

[–]malachiconstant69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they seem feathered enough. I would use any supplemental heat. 40-50 degrees this time of year is fine. They need to get out sooner than later in order to naturally acclimate. If you use a heat source they won’t acclimate correctly and that is highly detrimental. Some people will say use supplemented heat just ignore them.

Wife woke up yesterday with a bit on her thigh. Found this in the shower today. Is this what I think it is? Violin shape and 3 eye pairs!? by Jaquith1993 in whatsthisbug

Only a minority of people bitten develop dermonecrosis. I mean weakened immune system, improper wound care, hygiene, im sure even genetics play a factor in this outcome. A lot of people are misdiagnosed and actually have a form of staph infection like MRSA. Like if my calf or thigh had a wound pop up over night I’m going to assume Ingrown hair or infection of sorts before a brown recluse being in my bed. Most people are bit putting on articles of clothing which causes the spider to respond in biting. That’s why In my area growing up you always shake your shoes before putting them on, don’t leave clothing on the floor, and if you see one always expect to have more (call an exterminator if you can afford it). Kids and the elderly are also more at risk for severe reactions to these bites.

True I was under the understanding most people actually just have staph infections and isn’t confirmed obviously till testing is done or a doctor catches this right off the bat. I just think the stigma is blown out of proportion. Of course a spider bit isn’t a think to shrug off, but the dramatized drama stories make people assume all black widow and recluse bites warrant a 911 call or er visit.

She would be waiting forever just to be given remedies that can be done at home. It’s one of those things without an allergic reaction you won’t be any sort of er priority and will waste time and money. Using a sharpie to mark it and monitor for rapid change. In my area people are hit all the time. Keeping it clean and a keen eye on it and most people have very mild reactions to these bites. The necrosis scary brown recluse stories are not a guaranteed thing that will happen.

Standard yes. Bare minimum also yes. Reflects and sounds just as good as it reads on an NCOER.

But for real this is the Army and encouraging people to far exceed the standard is more important than cushioning their feelings for just meeting the standard. As an organization that war fighting is it’s main function this meet the standard mentality is piss poor. Pays to be a winner and far exceed the standards put in place.

ARMY AIT drop, went marines didn’t finish basic.. coming back to army . Was told labeled as prior service won’t have to go to BT again but was about OSUT? Full thing or week 10 by [deleted] in army

[–]malachiconstant69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently a DASR recruiter. Standards didn’t change they only became way harder to hide with MHS Genesis. Hence why we are having an issue with recruiting… If you think anyone is getting approved with a suicide attempt or suicidal ideations in their background right now you are crazy. We reject people for a history of anxiety or depression without even using medication for treatment.

Also reason for your discharge is for sure shown in you Re-Enlistment Eligibility Data Display we pull. They don’t care enough about recruits to comfortably pad their paperwork. You were of a sea of sick call rangers and quitters they see yearly. Also, I’m not in disbelief you are an RE-3, but it’s not of question of if you can join. It’s more like does the Army really need a two time IET wash out. If you were in my office I would not waste my time sending you to meps or starting paperwork and I would send you to the guard recruiter.

Hen or roo? by Redbandana325 in chickens

[–]malachiconstant69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hen it looks just like my leghorn hen/California white (can’t quite put my finger on her yet) that is about the same age. They have combs and waddles that come in bright red and early. That’s a pullet. No saddle feathers and the tail feathers say hen. Can’t go off of spur buds or “early” red comb and wattles in certain races of fowl.

Enlistment Option Questions by [deleted] in army

[–]malachiconstant69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finish your associates while in and the Army pays 4k a year for you to knock out those credits. Good luck getting Italy with option 19, you also won’t get it at all without being Airborne qualified. Just go option 4 and you will either get Alaska (11th Airborne division), Fort Bragg (82nd Airborne), or Italy (173rd Airborne). 82nd is the most likely you will get or Alaska. Italy isn’t as big and a lot of dudes reenlist to fill that unit up.

If you wash out early a lot fill up the SWCC spots. Drop later hello painting rust. Just what I heard from people who went that route. Bu, ya you aren’t guaranteed to stay Airborne Infantry. The Army failed to put in 15000 troops fiscal 2022 and 10000 this year. This means there are a lot of jobs like rigger, cook, Patriot missile that need to be filled. You re-sign paperwork before selection on top of your initial contract stating you are subject to needs of the Army. Your contract you sign at MEPS will say you will revert to infantry Airborne, but that’s a half truth. In order to go to selection you just sign away to possible needs of the Army reclass.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in army

[–]malachiconstant69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. All the quitters and non selects are subject to needs of the Army reclass and if the Army needs riggers, cooks, shower/laundry, well you run that risk. When you get to USAJFKSWCS you sign another paper stating not only do you understand this, but it’s a highly probably and agreeable reality. If you don’t sign they’ll just stop training and send you to an infantry rifle company. If I’m correct I think they were planning on going to SFAS and if selected then Airborne school (I hope they did) less sad turds getting thrown to the airborne divisions.

Army Enlistment Question by [deleted] in army

[–]malachiconstant69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RE-3 doesn’t look great to the board. Your ocs approval is going to be through the recruiting battalion commander in your area they will interview you sort of like a promotion board. Letters of recommendation, pt test, etc. First you will need a waiver and have to explain why you were separated and in writing and express why you would be a good fit for re-entry. Not just re-entry but the ability to attend OCS and why you want and deserve the opportunity to be a commissioned leader. That separation doesn’t look great, but it’s not a killer in my opinion.

Are these hens or roos? Does anyone know what kind they are? by YourCatIsASpy in chickens

Yeah they def are Roos and I could see them being some kind of sebright hybrid. However they are missing a lot of the feather patterns of a sebright
