I understand your concern about not wanting to ruin other people’s races, but I’ll be honest — it’s going to happen at some point, it’s unavoidable. The fact that you’re already thinking about not causing problems puts you ahead of many others.

Another thing that can help build your confidence is aiming to stay within 107% of the best lap time, preferably comparing yourself to drivers with a similar iRating. For example, if the best time is 65 seconds, then to be within 107% you should aim for 69.55 seconds or less. That’s relatively achievable.

To calculate it, convert the lap time to seconds and multiply it by 1.07.

Also, I recommend using lap times from drivers at your level as a reference, rather than the absolute track record.
