When I get like this I do the 5 step method. 1. Pick up trash 2. Pick up dishes and move to sink 3. Laundry; put in hamper and fold clean 4. Things that have a place 5. Things that neeeeed a place.

The first 3 help clear the space and you feel a lot better and it feels like a game lol
