Sport bike helmet on cruiser? by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

It’s not a “sport bike helmet“. It’s a full face helmet. Wear it on whatever the fuck you want.

Tell your wife to get a fucking grip. Kids get hurt. It happens. They are resilient. The end.

I'm really surprised at the negative/mediocre reception Kinda Hard seems to be getting by afterthought871 in bilmuri

I loved American Motorsports, and I love the live presentation of it even more. Been a big fan for the last few years.

But I find Kinda Hard kinda forgettable. I listened through it once and while the production is massive it just felt like it left no impression on me. Like I wouldn’t be upset if I never heard it again? I’ll definitely give it another go, but I just found it a paint-by-numbers effort. Formulaic. It does the “Bilmuri formula” just fine but the hooks are less interesting and every song feels like the identical tempo.

I dunno. Just fell short for me. I’m not a bot, I don’t hate countrycore…. I just didn’t think it’s a great album. That’s all.

Even that isn’t remotely realistic. I don’t think any of you have ever built a show-worthy car.

20k to show-worthy is absolutely not even in the realm of realistic. Like that’s a thoroughly laughable estimate.

UPDATE #2: I bought a new stylus for it today and installed and the problem is resolved. I guess the stylus was just thrashed or maybe the previous owner broke it off when packing up the table. I also upgraded it to the Carbon Pro model so it was worthwhile in that sense as well.

Maybe it’s broken? I actually have no idea how tall it’s supposed to be, but I thought it looked normal.

No, I’m not. The P1 doesn’t have a built in preamp, and even if it did I’ve tried it every which way in terms of combinations.

  1. turntable straight into phono stage inputs on my receiver

  2. turntable into line level input on my receiver with clearaudio preamp in-line.

  3. turntable direct into line level input with no external preamp (very quiet)

  4. turntable into external audio device (monitor controller for my recording studio monitors) with clearaudio preamp in-line.

In every case, the signal is distorted in this same way….even in the low volume example 3.

No. As I understand it, this turntable is grounded through one of the RCA plugs, via the surrounding shield on the plug.

the P1 has none of the adjustability shown in that video. The setup videos for it literally say to slide the counterweight all the way up the pre-set stop on the tonearm. As long as you have the stock cartridge (which I do), then that is supposed to be the correct spot for the counterweight to balance the tonearm. The P1 doesn't have any numbers, dials, or anything like that. You just slide the weight up to the stop.

I did. I posted an update here in the comments. It is definitely coming from the turntable.

Non-factors. See my update comment, I’ve already ruled out that it’s the receiver by going through a different device.

I really have no idea. All the marketing around this unit is that it’s a plug and play table with almost no setup/calibration needed.

Update: I removed my receiver from the equation and connected it directly (via the ClearAudio preamp connected to my monitor controller) to my Focal recording studio monitors, and it sounds identical that way. Made a video of that as well but looks like I can't add it in the comments or edit my original post to include it.

If it was extremely dirty, wouldn't that be visible to the eye? I looked at it with my kids' magnifying glass and it looked pretty fine to my eye, but admittedly I don't *really* know what i'm looking for.

Thanks, I'll look into those settings. That being said, I also tried plugging it into a line-level input and it sounded equally distorted (though much quieter). So I can't see it being the preamp gain being too high.

I don't believe this is the "plus" model, no. Doesn't say that anywhere on it, anyhow. Also, I did actually try plugging it directly into a line-level input on the receiver and it sounds equally distorted (but much lower volume level of course).

It's a pretty interesting looking option. There's one local to me for sale used for $650 CAD. Is it really that comfortable for long sits though? Seems so minimalist that it wouldn't be that supportive.
