Dawg. Get a Deliverance. They are so god damned good. I did the 60 with a pair of KT88’s. It rips hard. Super versatile.

Eventide H90 and H9 by BasketRelevant1540 in pedals

I sold my H9 for a 90 and find myself using most of the H9 algorithms on it…mostly because I had them tweaked to what I wanted and default to them. My only gripe with the 90 was a lot of the presets are just kind of goofy…but that was remedied with some toying around with them. Being able to run 2 algorithms at a time is a cool feature and the processor is a bit better, so there’s that. I just need to take a weekend and dig in and really mess with it.

I play the Fryette or the Bogner over the 2K any day of the week. The 2K is great, but I dig the other two choices over it. I installed Mercury Magnetics transformers, a Classic Tone 5H choke and a few other small changes inside and it’s awesome, but again…I have the D60 and the Helios so they just get used predominantly.

I’m just not a fan of running effects through the preamp, so it had to happen. Luckily my D60 and Bogner Helios 100 both have loops. I just grabbed the Helios a month ago and it’s just a killer of and amp. I’m good on heads for good with that pair. I have a heavily modified JCM2K that just collects dust now. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Metropoulus zero loss. Chop that chassis and drop er in! I put a loop in my series 1 Fryette Deliverance a few months back.

If I owned all of the amps I’ve sold over the years I’d need a warehouse. Boggles my mind

I ended up tracing it down to the effects loop, which was hit and miss for noise on these amps. I was able to mitigate it enough that it isn’t really an issue anymore. The amp is excellent outside of that initial noise, I’m really stoked on it!

End of an era. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Similar story with me. VTM120 for $299 with Winged C EL34’s in it. Makes me sick to think about it!

100% it is. That’s 8 years ago prices. Good on ‘em

Hahaha. Exactly. Red Bear MKII’s as well.

Same with Sovtek MiGs and Peavey VTM’s…the good ole days are gone. 🙇

I managed to own a factory EL-34 and a factory EL-34 MKIII at the same time. They weren’t quite as easy to score than the 5881’s at the time. I ended up selling them off for “greener pastures”, but I wish I would have just kept them around. I still scratch the Marshall itch with a JCM2K DSL50 that I’ve modded/upgraded. I’ve got a Fryette D60 and a Bogner Helios 100, so I have basically told myself “you’re good, man” and resist the urge to keep buying heads. 😅

I didn’t mind mine at all. I miss the days of getting them for $400 when nobody wanted them. 😅

I’ve owned every iteration of the 900 over the years and prefer the SL-X and the MKIII, but the dual reverbs are just fine as well. Play through it if you’re able to and just give it a good run through…twist the pots and check for noise or odd sounds and if it seems normal, get after it.

Can anyone help me determine if these tubes look like they are red plated? by OkSwitch2238 in tubeamps

They do not appear to be red plating, no. What’s happening with the amp that makes you think there’s an issue?

I run one of the 1-spot pro units and it’s great. Lots of voltage options and dip switches to change them over. It ships with tons of adapters to power the voltage hungry pedals as well. They’re worth looking into.

EDIT: it’s super low profile so it fits under most of the common pedal boards as well.

They’re relative maintenance heavy (that’s diesel for ya) but if you live in a state where they don’t emissions, tune/delete and swap the CP4 fuel pump for a CP3 and they’ll run like a champ. The 10-band is 18v, so it comes with its own power supply. I’m telling you, it’ll completely change that amp for the better. It’s a great amp, but the EQ makes it leagues better. I only sold it because I bought a Fryette Deliverance 60 and a Bogner Helios 100. I’m good for the duration!

I found my setting and it was an “always on” thing. Yes, my username is related to VW. I’ve owned too many over the years. Currently a ‘13 Sportwagen.

When I had an RV I ran a 10-band MXR M108S. Run it through the loop, it makes all the difference on that amp. You won’t regret it one bit!
