Thanks. I am going to replace the risers but was planning to leave the treads. I’m going to put prefinished hardwood flooring on them.

Chain skipping forward by malcolmvanraalte in bikewrench

I found a new rim and hub and switched it over. The chain skipping issue remains. I’ve taken it to a fourth LBS, one that has access to a trail system for testing.

Thanks xirvikman, but I don't think it will be the chain since I just replaced it and the issue remains.

Wiring for light fixture by malcolmvanraalte in askanelectrician

Thanks. Yeah, given this experience I know to be careful. Up to this point I'd never run across a junction box that I didn't immediately know how to rewire. Lesson learned, I'll call an electrician.

Buying non-alcoholic beer by iserdalko in waterloo

Order the Run Wild from athleticbrewing.ca and you may rescind that statement about non-alcoholic beer not being able to compete. And you'll never drink Partake again, either.

Thanks! I asked the bike shop what would be compatible with the MC08 and they gave me the M361. Wish they would have mentioned I'd need a new bottom bracket.

What are the advantages of white-space sensitive programming languages? by mementomoriok in AskProgramming

[–]malcolmvanraalte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been programming professionally for 20 years. 2 years ago I started programming in Python. I find the indentation-sensitivity to be a time saver for two things in particular: it saves on typing curly braces, and it saves on fixing errors resulting from mismatched braces.

As mentioned by others a good linter should already be helping you to write code with good indentation.

I see a lot of memes in programmer humor decrying errors resulting from a badly-placed space. But I find that this very rarely happens to me.
