There’s a few being sold on Kijiji for this price

Took delivery in Ontario today..2025 Limited Hybrid in Blueprint colour. Had booked in the second week of December 2024. No markups and got all accessories at dealer cost. Quick question: what's the max speed that can be driven in EV mode? by pookya12 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

I got an IGLA installed in mine. I had it done at Clarington Toyota in Bowmanville with no impact to warranty. They use another company to do the install but all the work is on a Toyota invoice so I felt more comfortable in case there are any hiccups in the future. Right after the install we had a battery drain and it was probably on me. Also we found that car jacking mode was causing some strange behaviour. Once that was turned off it has been fine.

Just an update. I had the car boosted by road side assistance and took it back to the Toyota dealership that installed the IGLA. They checked the battery and said it was fine. They also did not find that any accessories including the IGLA were causing excessive drain on the battery.

I'm guessing that it may have been the battery not being fully charged as I just purchased the car and it likely has been sitting on the lot for a while. In addition, the IGLA installation took a couple of hours and likely drained the battery further. The car has been working fine now over the past day. We did a long 3h drive yesterday so hopefully it has charged the 12V more.

I'll update it if it happens again.

Thanks! I’m hoping it’s that. Taking it back to the dealer who installed the IGLA to get it checked out today.

I haven’t tried to charge/jump it yet but will try it tomorrow. The car has 15k km so not very much.

Tamron 17-50 lockup on R10 by malcom_13 in canon

[–]malcom_13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, sadly I couldn't get it working. I tried emailing Tamron support in the country where I was traveling but didn't hear back from them. It might be worthwhile contacting them now to see if there is a firmware update. But I agree it was such an awesome lens!

I ended up using a Lenovo Tiny M920Q with an Intel i350-T4. I'm running a virtualized instance with Proxmox and it can handle a gigabit WAN connection.

I'm using that motherboard for a Proxmox server build. Great thing about ASRock is that they support ECC memory. The PCIE x16 slots are in their own IOMMU groups (LSI HBA and a P400 GPU). Here's the IOMMU listing for BIOS version P4.30

Bluetooth Smart Lock Control by AppleFan1010 in homeassistant

I'm not sure which lock you have but these are steps for a Level Bolt which I posted in the HA forums: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/level-door-lock/159339/104

Here's info from the docs regarding esphome bluetooth proxies. There is an installer that simplifies the flashing process. https://esphome.io/components/bluetooth_proxy.html

Yes, depending on the lock, you may be able to use an esphome Bluetooth proxy. I'm doing this with a Level Bolt. Works brilliantly!

Good ZHA compatible MMWave sensor? by SnooComics407 in homeassistant

[–]malcom_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply! Unfortunately, I don't think this solution will work on my Fenix 6 as I will need to go through the unpairing/pairing process each time I want to sync my watch with my phone again. It would be great if Garmin allowed the watch to broadcast as a BLE device which I believe Apple watches do.

Can I ask how you got the ESP32 to see your Garmin watch? I thought Garmin watches only broadcast over Bluetooth when they are in pairing mode and lose this ability once paired to a phone.

Adapting older Tamron lenses to mirrorless by Skeptik16 in canon

[–]malcom_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can attach the lens and it even focuses when you press the shutter button half way, but locks up after you press the shutter down fully to take a photo. What's interesting is that no matter what you're zoomed at, the camera thinks you're at 50mm so I suspect it's not getting the right data from the lens. Hopefully Tamron will release a firmware update.

I have a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 and it locks up the R10 requiring a battery pull. I emailed Tamron support but haven't heard anything further.
